....to call college football games in my opinion.

Glad they were sec.

I think I heard that they didn’t like each other much and that is why they stopped working with each other abruptly.

When I think of 90s SEC football I think of ESPN Saturday night games with Gottfried, Franklin and Karsten.

The GOAT era of SEC on TV.

Best conference back then as well.
The media was starting to come around to the conclusion. Hard to ignore it.

He called Holly Rowe "sweetheart" and somebody else "sweet baby" I think.

Yeah I remember it being something pretty innocuous but the details escaped me.

Jackson and Griese was the best. Franklin and Gottfried was a strong number 2.

Yea, Jackson was great but by that point he wasn't doing any SEC games outside of a few bowl games.

Best ever. Made every game feel like a nut cruncher and a butthole clincher without overhyping it or pandering. It just came natural for those two

I'm not saying that a raging redneck should be the play by play announcer for every game, but the fact that Ron Franklin was from the south just made it even more powerful.

There is not a better announcer out there than Jackson was.

I remember him calling the very first SECCG and it was great but the 92 Sugar Bowl was maybe his best work.

What!!! No votes for Mike Patrick? Not just every tv CFB announcer can bring up Britney Spears and get into her life on a national tv broadcast. Brent Musburger can’t get a vote on here either lol.
