He was a competitor, just didn't have the arm to make all the throws. He gave his all..

He was solid enough in 2017.
Good enough to beat Aggie, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida, and Ole Miss.
Bad enough to lose to Troy.

At the time, I thought he was about as good as we could get at LSU. We had a pretty terrible stretch of QB’s. The next guy was a nice surprise.

Martinez has just fell off. Corral needs to start next week. He is playing the best.

Game manager in a bad offensive scheme. Biggest issue I remember was he had a weak arm.

This. IIRC he missed a ton of throws against Bama in 2017 that would have changed the game. A game that had a 24-10 final. Burrow or Daniels wins that game

I was in the stands at BDS and I saw DJ Chark get loose behind Bama’s secondary 5 times and Etling could not throw the ball far enough…
