It’s amazing how many great games LSU and Alabama have had in the past 15 years and how Alabama is still able to have such a lopsided record over LSU in that span. LSU has just not been able to secure those wins when the opportunity was there.

All but 1 of LSU's shutouts since 1993 have been to Alabama, the lone outlier being shutout by Arkansas in 2014 in Fayetteville. 1996, 2002, 2011, 2016, and 2018. And I had the great displeasure of being at all of them

I was at all but 1996. I was there for the 2011 Natty also. Just awful. I want to enjoy this rivalry, but it's been very very frustrating for us. So many close, last minute losses.

Hurts was asked just not to lose the game. It was like 2012 when Bama appeared to be ready for a blowout up 14-3 and went ultra conservative and had to win one on the last drive. In the 2nd half McCarron threw only 7 passes until the last drive. In 2013 Saban let McCarron go and it was a rout. 2016 was the same as 2012. Just don’t lose the game and don’t take any chances.
