Can Bama get pressure with 4 & 5?

This shouldn't even be a question.

Is Clemson actually HUNH? I haven't watched them much at all this year, but I know they operate more of a spread offense, and Watson is a dual threat QB.

Yes they are a HUNH. they like to run in excess of 80 offensive plays pr game. With that said the also like to change the tempo based on game conditions.

I think stopping Watson from running is the biggest and most important gameplan for the defense.

Stopping Watson is only half the key. Watson in the zone-read opens both the inside and the edges of the run game. Go watch the IronBowl and see how Gus attacked the edges of the Bama defense for well over 100 rushing yards. Clemson will most likely do that instead of the LSU/MSU plan of run up the middle.

Clemson also has great speed in the skill positions and Watson can pass the ball well. Alabama is still weak against the pass. You will not see the overthrows you saw with Cook (career 50% passer before that Bama game.) Expect Clemson to take deep shots and connect on a few for long TDs.

On defense Clemson has speed also. They will need to penetrate to stop the run game. They cannot let Henry get 5ypc.

Need to avoid bad matchups in the passing game. Kiffen was able to matchup Old Man Ridley against a S of Michigan State too much. Clemson might let M. Alexander follow Ridley around all

Ridley is a fantastic WR, but by focusing on him, that frees up Ardarius Stewart, OJ Howard, and Richard Mullaney to make more plays. Stewart, in particular, has really been impressive down the stretch.

I don't have a "solid" analysis, but cliffs is this:
I liken their offense to a starburst. Most activity is lateral, they want space and pace to create a game of chase meaning they believe if they can make teams have to race them to a spot or chase down a scrambling QB, etc, they believe they win. You beat a team like that by controlling chunks of the field so that you don't have to chase. Instead they would be moving into a region you already control which is a no-win situation for them. That is why I think Bama really controls this game from start to finish. I believe Bama can get off blocks, and control the areas they're assigned to.

Actually slick, our worst nightmare is 5 turnovers and a fluke pass play.

In other words, Bama beat Bama.

I think a good offensive comp scheme wise for Clemson is Texas A&M in terms of play calling and tempo. Against those teams you have to win 1st down to slow down the pace as they will eat you up with momentum. Alabama actually did well with that with OSU last year most of the game, but we got KILLED on 3rd and long conversions.
