It's going to go to 8, then 12 or 16 and hopefully settle in at 24.

Let's stick to four, and just get it right from now on.

That isn't what people are bitching about. At least one of the best four teams in the country sat on the outside for the sake of Alabama. Eight teams would resolve that, but only if it's done correctly. If not, it's just kicking shite down the road.

Man, if only y'all hadn't lost two games, including an absolute fricking abomination of a loss to Iowa, y'all might have a reason to complain. As it is, y'all lost a fricking abomination of a game against Iowa. It wasn't even close. You didn't get upset, you got skull-fricked by a mediocre team. It's as if Bama had lost to us.

UCF has zero losses.

Wisconsin has one loss.

Not if you do an 8 team. Power 5 champions are in, which would have included all that wanted to be in...like USC. Then the last 3 should be a team like UCF that was in the top 10 and undefeated. The other two would be 2 1 loss teams all voted on. It’s needs to be a domino effect

I think this year's SECCG begs to differ.

Okay...how? And remember to use the word 'inherently,' because that was my premise.

With only 4 teams, I think a requirement should be that you must win your conference to get in.

Disclaimer - just because you win your conference, that shouldn't automatically qualify you.

I agree don't whine about conf champions when you leave one out every year. They got the four best teams period and that's what you want. Go to six or eight and create more relevant bowls.

Then Ohio State wouldn't have made it last year.

Oh sure. All losses are created exactly equal. That's why OSU should have been left out if their only loss had been to OU. That's the argument of people incapable of analysis. They want things simple because they can't think hard enough to actually see nuances. Don't be that person.

Toledo does not get in, Wisconsin or Penn State gets the 8 spot

Eliminate conference championship game?

If that were the case, UGA gets left out this year...

Auburn wins the SEC based on head to head and Bama gets the at large spot

Losses matter. If they didn’t OSU would have made the playoffs.

While it may not be true for other P5 conferences yet, surely you accept that the SECCG inherently determines who will automatically get into the playoffs; with inherent meaning, "in a permanent, essential, or characteristic way."

Please tell me that you're not a graduate of the school you root for.

Ask the question if you don't understand my point. I'm always happy to explain it as many times as necessary.

Sometimes. If they did, Bama wouldn't have made the playoff.

No. If any new rule is made, which I doubt will happen, they will make a rule that you have to win your conference to make the playoff. So, the Top 4 conference champions will go to the Playoff.

No, that was situational, not inherent. If both teams had gone in with 2 losses, it's more than likely we'd have seen a Wisky/OU game yesterday.
