I've seen solid reporting that predicts that LSU can have as many as four 1st round draft picks and another bunch of players on the second day in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

If you think NFL scouts are thinking this 100% due to "good ol' Joe made'em all look better", you're just a silly person.

OK, I don't disagree. But way back in this thread, you seemed to take the position that Burrow and Newton's seasons could be compared evenly head-to-head and that just ain't the case. LSU fans like you want to make the argument that the 2019 LSU team was the "best of all time" and there's a reasonable argument for that and it ain't just because of the amazing year that Joe Burrow had.

Now tell me, honestly from your heart of hearts, if Cam Newton (and Fairley too, but mostly Cam because the 2010 Auburn defense was pretty damn bad even with Fairley) hadn't carried that 2010 team on his shoulders, what would have been the best you think they could have done with a merely competent, non-"special" QB?

Now answer the same question if you subtract Joe Burrow from that 2019 LSU team.

Here's my answers... with a normal, merely "competent" QB on the 2010 Auburn squad, Auburn finishes in the bottom half of the SEC West.

LSU 2019? They're still a championship contender. Probably wouldn't win it, but they would have easily been in contention.

"Joe Burrow had one of if not the best season's of all time!" Yeah, but you pointed it out yourself, last year's LSU squad was a waaaaaaaaaaaay better TEAM than the 2010 Auburn squad.

Cam Newton carried an entire team and made Gus Malzahn look like a damn genius. Ponder on THAT statement for just a little while.
