Why can't we?

What happens if both teams break out the Orange and Crimson?

I'd love to see it.

against league rules, there should definitely be an exception made for TSIO.

This is Saban' s favorite kind of game.....trying to hype the team and fans by using a Uniform being different... Ask Mark Richt how his " Blackout" game worked for him back in '08 against us, between the hedges...

Settle down, gump. These are actually Tennessee's primary away uniforms.

That's stupid.

I heard something about a 15 yard penalty or something as punishment.

That may just be a rumor though.

No doubt. I want both teams to wear their home jerseys like they used to. I think the away team just loses a timeout for wearing the home jersey though.

That's crazy. Two home uniforms on the field is a cool look. The little battle for the Fremont cannon thing here in NV is two homes for the first time. Navy and Scarlet is a cool combo.

Didn't Kiffin try this in '09 but Bama didn't want to?

Jersey Color and Design
ARTICLE 5. a. Players of opposing teams shall wear jerseys of contrasting colors. Players on the same team shall wear jerseys of the same color and design.
1. The visiting team shall wear white jerseys; however, the home team may wear white jerseys if the teams have agreed in writing before the season.
2. If the home team wears colored jerseys, the visiting team may also wear colored jerseys, if and only if the following conditions have been satisfied:
a. The home team has agreed in writing prior to the game; and
b. The conference of the home team certifies that the jersey of the visiting team is of a contrasting color.
3. If on the kickoff at the start of each half, the visiting team wears a colored jersey in violation of the conditions specified in paragraph 2 (above), it is a foul for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Bottom Line....if the teams and conference agree on jersey color, they meet the NCAA requirement
If not, it's 15 yds on the KO

This might work for Alabama/Auburn or Alabama Tennessee, but would never get by with any of the red teams playing each other or Auburn/Florida.

I don't even think LSU could match purple with blue from Auburn or Florida and it be considered contrasting enough.

Yep, that was for color scheme of numbers being too close to base color fo the jersey. 15 yards assessed after the end of the return on the opening kick.

Man, I absolutely love the contrast of Orange and crimson on the same field. Really sums up the rivalry

Read the entire rule in context. The visiting team SHALL wear white....unless there's an agreement. If both want to wear colored jerseys, they have to agree in advance of the game AND be contrasting colors.
