Part of our excitement with getting Chaney was that it provided evidence that Fulmer and UT were willing to spend big money for assistants. No reasonable fan thinks that Chaney is some kind of elite offensive mastermind, but he is a vast improvement over what we had and much better than what UGA ended up with.

Only an idiot can watch this team and blame Chaney.

It's his job as the OC to tailor hte offense to what you ahve. Like I said we ran literally the exact same offense all 3 yeras. In 17 and 18 we had a lot of talent so it was fine. In 16 we had minimal talent and we went 8-5 including a loss to vandy and narrowly avoiding the biggest upset of all time against nichols. He has 1 scheme, 1 system, 1 way of doing things and to hell with who the actual players are. Do you think that sounds like a good OC?

I would bet almost everything Geronimo transfers and Bailey is VOLS starter next annum. Unless he gets here and suddenly starts sucking which would not surprise me one bit lmao

Only problem with Bailey is he's injury prone. He's missed games each of his first 3 seasons. I'm not sure he'll hold up to taking hits from SEC DL. Although, some time in an SEC weight room should help that.

sure why this question is even asked. It's not like Vol fans isn't familiar with Chaney. Hwas at Tennessee from 2009-2012 as OC and put up nice numbers.

Most vols didn’t like him during that tenure, but they wouldn’t admit it when when y’all “stole” him from uga.

Look at the screenshots ITT. VOLS had guys running open all night and Guarantano struggles so badly to anticipate anything. He can’t feel pressure in the pocket, and he certainly can’t anticipate a receiver coming out of his break.

They mentioned it multiple times on the broadcast how there would be guys wide open coming out of a break and Geronimo would hold the ball like a second or two too long. Theses are mistakes a 4th year junior should not be making

I still find it funny that Georgia is posting about the 0-2 VOLS.

you don't get out of this that easily. We've heard for a year now that yall "stole" chaney from us and how big of a win that was for you. We tried to tell you about the unimaginitive playcalling, not playing to your strengths, continuously runnign plays that don't work, constantly running straight into a stacked box on 3rd and short, calling head scratching reverse type plays behind the LOS on short yardage, etc. All of those are still the exact same problems he's had since he was here but yall didn't want to accept it.

The really crazy aspect of this Chaney deal is that he's coached UT recently and Tenners were less than enamored with him. He had some success at UGA and all of a sudden he was the 2nd coming.

We came up on the winning side of the Chaney deal, to say the least.

Strange bunch, those Tenners.

This isn't true. You're confusing us with Arkansas.

So Cheney just sucks then? Are you saying 16 was a talent laden roster and he still couldn’t call plays worth a shite?

Nope. I don’t pay attention to Arkansas. Even Chaney’s one good offense at ut constantly failed in the ends of games.

I've been an active "guest contributor" on VolNation since 2008. I respectfully beg to differ.
