Damn...It looks like bama is butthurt from running successful plays.

Yea since Cam and Blaine Gabbert were both taken in the top 10 of the NFL draft it is a huge issue.
Pretty sure I addressed that.

I can see why a NFL GM would take a chance on Cam, he is such a physical freak. Gabbert on the other hand, was a reach. He never did anything special on college, he was the product of Pinkel's system, and will be a backup mostly in his career, or a desperate team will take a chance and trade for him.

Well seeing as how Auburn was more successful with those plays, I'd say your assesment is more than fair. But you gotta expect some banter and butthurteness, especially since you all bitch and moan all the time about how you all have had a better record than Bama since Bryant, but are still considered little sister, to everyone.

The fact that someone is so butthurt that they made a video to show how both teams run an end around is simply amazing. The fact that you felt it should be taken seriously and created a thread about it is just sad.
And, the fact that you think that that is somehow "Auburn's play" shows a pretty large gap in football knowledge.

We ran the sweep before Saban, even. I recall DJ Hall doing it.

Our plays, their song. Who's keeping track anyway?
Far as I'm concerned it's even!

The main reason for the video is to show 'Bama fans how stupid they were when they said Auburn ran gimmicky plays. Turns out, we both run the same plays.
Yes, because we said that every single play that Gus called was a gimmicky play.
Every team in the country runs the types of plays that are on that video. Wanna know why? Because they work.
It's the plays that he mixes in with the common plays, quite regularly actually, that are "gimmicky".
How do you pick a handful of plays out of an entire offense and use them to dispute a description of the other plays in that offense? Sounds like typical Barner logic to me.
"Gus Malzahn runs gimmicky plays."
"NU-UH!!! HE RUN DA THSWEEP AND DA THSKWEEN JUTHS LIKE YALLZUNZ!!"
"Yes, but he also runs gimmicky plays as well."
"NO WAY YOU DUMMY BAMMER! THE GUTHS BUTHS ITHS GAWNNA RUNNED YOUTHS OVAH!!! WAW EEEEGEW!!!"

somebody is mad... i thought Bama looked pretty good running Auburn's plays...and they can still line up pro and knock the snot out of you. I don't blame them for doing it but don't denying that Bama wasn't reaching into someone's bag of tricks is just dumb. Why not? They are great plays.
Not mad, just astonished that some folks that post regularly on a sports board are so ignorant of the sport they are posting about.
Those are common plays in ANY school's playbook, and they were around before Gus stated calling them.
And FTR, you are still missing the entire point of this thread, which by the way, is almost as ignorant as what you just posted.

Look at the video I posted earlier of The Deuce. UA has thrown in wrinkles forever, but the crux of the O is under center/tight end set/downhill stuff.
As an aside, I miss seeing Palmer do his stuff. That guy was electric.

We all know that Malzahn's Offense is more productive that Bama's.

With a defense like that it damn well better be.

quote:Yes...and Auburn used to run the wishbone...which is about as relevant as your statement...given the fact that all of the players and coaches and 2 decades or so gone by now. Is there some part of Alabama's football culture that you believe is responsible for throwing in "wrinkles" that just happen to look exactly like Auburn plays?

Given my druthers, I would rather have an anemic O and a bunch of demon babies on D. Personal choice and all...
