Nervous about what? We are stealing Oklahoma's best recruits and have a better coaching staff.
Also, you are too broke (or too pussy and making excuses) to even be on our schedule for the next 3 years.
Then once you are, we will beat your arse with Okie players and an Okie coach.

What’s the selling point for OU vs these other schools?

Texas had some good years under DKR and won a Natty under Old ButterTooth but they just pale in terms of Natty's to Alabama or Oklahoma

The rest of the SEC just can not exploit similar brand power

If you ask most of the country to name the 5 biggest football schools, my guess is it looks something like this ...

Alabama = #1 in the South (ACC and SEC country)
Ohio = #1 in the upper midwest (B1G country)
Oklahoma = #1 in the southern midwest (Big 8 / SWC / Big 12 country)
Southern California = #1 in the Far West (PAC country)
Notre Dame = #1 nationally with heavy concentration on the East Coast

I think now the Sooners are not the abused wife of the nutless cow college in TX they will blossom as they can not only exploit their football brand but all the other sports they compete in.

MCBB = #2 or #3 in their previous conferences with Natty's
WCBB = upper tier in their previous conferences
Baseball = will be the closest SEC school to Omaha now
Softball = they hold the WCWS in OK every year

Even back in the 2010 realignment they probably fit the SEC sports profile better than any other candidate discussed including both TX schools. I know it is hard to accept for fans of the TX schools but it is the truth as seen by a neutral view outside the confines of the TX state line.

The 2 TX schools have proved all the money in the world does not assure Natty's and conversely a school like UK can compete without unlimited money or enough in state recruiting talent.

I'm not sure I'd want a whole lot of Clemson rubbing off on my program if I'm OU.

Does Oklahoma have a big sheep program in Norman?

When it comes to Clemson rubbing on something I think that would be the thing to excite them.

Besides bama and UGA. OUs blue chip ratio is 3rd highest in the sec so they are obviously recruiting better than the other teams regardless of what one recruiting service ranks them. OU takes small classes with a high average rating, compared to most sec teams.

Maybe a quantity of good players is better than a few quality players.

Based on Oklahoma’s recent lack of success on the big stage, it doesn’t seem to be working out.

Since OU’s last championship, LSU, Clemson and Florida have all played in and won multiple championships. And on occasion have steam rolled the Sooners along the way.

Additionally, a better indicator of whether a player is a true blue chipper is whether he selected in the NFL draft, when he selected and if he makes a roster.

Again, Oklahoma comes up short here.

Maybe y’all should rethink talent evaluation.

Venable is one of the greatest DC's of his generation. Unfortunately that doesn't mean shite. Ask Ole Germy. Venables has a 50-50 shot but I actually think offensive minded coaches are a better risk when pulling from coordinators.
