LSU raised 750 million in the past couple years.
For athletics? Sorry, I don't believe this. Link please?
Ole Miss raised almost half a billion about ten years ago but it was for academic endowments and campus building renovations.

He's referring to the Forever LSU capital campaign, similar to Ole Miss' endowment fund. I know it surpassed 750 million.
LSU has raised over 250 million for athletics the past ten years, too...two new upper decks (180 million), new baseball facility (40 million), softball (6-9 million), football operations center, new basketball practice facility and renovation of PMAC (10-15 million combined), golf course renovation, golf practice facilities, and an academic center.
LSU has flashed some cash over the last 10 years, no doubt. Also tons of talk about a new upper deck int eh South Endzone and/or major renovation of the bowl.

We're getting a new football team meeting room.

yall need to bowl in your stadium IMO.
We need a bigger fan base for that. Once we are confident that we can fit 80K in there, we'll do it. Until then, we're stuck with the mini-horseshoe deal. I heard this straight out of Boone's mouth a few years back, so TIFWIW.

FWIW....The Vaught Society is about 2.5 years old.

I know, I have family on both sides of the rivalry. I was just telling toddy that LSU has its fair share of money, too.

We need a couple good seasons in a row before we spend big money on expansion
Cmon guys. We all know that's not how it works.
Lemme ask ya, when we expanded the SEZ, it isnt like people were just falling out of the stands at The Vaught. We werent seeling every game out, or not atleast the games I was at.
I am a firm believer that if you build something new, it will be an attraction. Plus, it would make our stadium much much louder.
I am not asking for it right this second. It needs to be done right and done to where we can expand beyond the lower NEZ bowl but let's get some plans in the works.
This is my dream for VHS:

Boone tweeted a couple weeks ago that we were about 3-5 years away from expanding NEZ.

Boone said just that 3-5 years ago. In Boonespeak, "3-5 years" is the airline equivalent of a "30 minute delay." They don't really know when shite's gonna happen.
Yes, I stole that joke from 30 Rock. Deal with it.

you'd sell out for the big SEC games(Tennessee, Alabama, LSU, Auburn, possibly UGA and MSU. For some reason I'd rather see yall do the expansion before the cowbells do theirs.
FWIW, OM's home schedule last year sucked big time.

This. It would have been nice to have had a decent season this past year because we had alot of momentum going into last year (selling out season tickets for the first time ever). Ole Miss fans are pretty fairweather in general, from my experiance, and that is not a good combo along with the size of our fanbase.

I agree, but it's not like we're sitting on 100 mil. Wed have to make a huge investment in the theory, "if you build it, they will come." Now if the Vaught Society can raise 50 mil. Which would probably cover half of it, then fine. But I think Boone has now put the idea of a new arena/student fitness center/ caf ahead of the NEZ expansion simply because he has the schools help in that project, where he would have to fund football expansion solely on athletic funds.

This. The next few years we have some nice home games in Oxford. If we can sell out season tickets two year in a row then I'd agree we're ready for expansion...... When the money is there
