I think TV timeouts can explain a lot of that lost energy. Hard to keep it all going when after every change of possession (and sometimes twice after a change of possession) you go 3 minutes of no action. I also think it’s why drone and light shows are more ubiquitous now to keep fan engagement high during the downtime, but it’s a bandaid at best.

Makes sense, people having phones now probably hurts too.

They could have played that game 10 times in VHS with that atmosphere and OM would have won 10 times.

I really hope 1BigTigerFan never has to pay for a beer or woman of the night ever again in any city, state or country.

Correction: I forget, women pay him. But the point still stands.

That’s great. I remember going to games at VH in 80s (I will not use that racist piece of shits name), and being one of a handful in the student section even watching the fricking game. There was one Vandy game that I think we lost but came back in a big way and the players were begging the fans to make noise. I remember yelling at the student section begging people to get involved.

It was one of those damn early day games and everyone was hung over etc, but that was no excuse. (The end of the rebel flag era and the Gerald Turner dry campus bullshite.

I was at the game and had no problems with your fans at all.

You had the sexier sundress (no homo) and better shoes.

Classy percolates to the top.
