They used to be the second cross divisional rival from the east, after the divisions in 1992. So yes, Alabama used to play Vandy every year. As well as UT.

I'm surprised LSU has only played Vandy 30 times. I'm sure we have played Kentucky more than any team in the West though.

Oh yeah, Bama used Vandy as their little "extra game" trick up until the league standardized schedules. It was their way of hedging the bet against other teams. So when they lost the SEC, (see 1972) they still would "win the SEC" by having a higher winning percentage.

Auburn has always called them out for their bullshite rigging of the conference, the other stupid fricks in the conference are just now figuring it out.
