I agree, but that is incidental to my point. I hat will public opinion be of a female kicker getting lit up, even on a clean play?

If she isn't handling kick-offs, then she just needs to worry about blocked kicks or bad snaps.
It's Vandy, so she's not going to get many chances to kick a FG each game anyway.
