I just booked flights for our game in Nashville on 11/21. It looks like we're staying near the intersection of I-40/65 and Charlotte Ave.

I've never been to Nashville, but it looks like a pretty small city from checking it out on Google Earth. Would it be pointless for us to get a rental car? The only places we'll be going are airport, downtown, and Vandy Stadium, from where we're staying. Would it make more sense to just split taxis/Ubers while we're there Fri-Sun? Does Nashville have Uber (UberX, UberXL)?

TIA

Vandy fan,

I too will be going to the game. Anything that's a must do while in Nashville other than that hot chicken?

Public transportation isn't great in Nashville, but a combo of cabs and Uber should be fine. Cabs aren't great around your hotel or Vandy. Cabs are good downtown and airport. Nashville's Uber has gotten pretty good.

I wouldn't fool with a rental if your plan is to drink around the game and drink downtown.

I would explore other options.

As far as rental cars, shouldn't be necessary as long as you stay in the downtown or Vandy area. Vanderbilt stadium is only a couple of miles from downtown anyway.

It's not rape if it's consensual.

Do you like both kinds of music?

I'm headed there in a few weeks to see Mizzou. I'm squeezing this in:

Dylan, Cash and the Nashville Cats: A New Music City at the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Gonna see the guitar that Charlie Daniels used on "Nashville Skyline."

Yeah, sadly I've already checked most of the venues and there aren't any shows that weekend I'm interested in. Would have been great to squeeze one in.

Edit: just realized you were talking about the country music hall of fame. That exhibit looks promising. I'll keep that in mind.
