From an outsider looking in I would say Tenn probably has more talent in quantity but is not nearly as consistent. Georgia has good top talent but not as much depth and plays well on a more consistent basis. If they both are playing at a high level then it goes down to the wire.

Pretty much. I think most people would agree that UGA is the better basketball team right now. That game skews things because we got robbed. Had Valentine and his crew been paying attention you would be the one bitching right now.

Hopefully the NCAA committee will put an * next to this game saying that UGA really won.

I think the dawgs have enough talent to bring home the NIT this year.

Solid team, not there yet. But Fox will do work and get you where you want to be.

Valentine is known as a fricking clown. Look at page 1 of this thread, even UT fans know the guy is a joke. He SUCKS. Read this link (apologies it's from a nerd site), it just shows how much of a piece of shite this guy is.

I am happy UGA seems to be getting better though. Beating UK at home and staying competitive with Tennessee wouldn't have been possible a few years ago.

You seem pretty confident that UGA doesn't get in to the tournament. How so? What makes you think a UT team with 6 losses gets in over a current UGA team with 4? Most people have UGA getting in to the tournament.

Higher RPI, More quality wins, Better Strength of Schedule.

I know the NCAA tournament thing is relatively knew to the Dawg fans. I was there 5 years ago. But the criteria above is usually pretty important in seeding.

I think UGA and UT will both be in the tourney this year along with UK, UF, and Vandy. UGA may end up with a bye in the SEC tourney before it's all said and done. It's wide arse open in the east.

Yeah, that's all assuming you don't tank the rest of the way and play the way you did against Oakland and USC. You have 6 losses right now and are at the beginning of SEC play. Don't get too confident. Right now we have a better shot at making it then y'all. We've played significantly more consistent thus far.

Tennessee has the number one SOS in the nation with @UConn and 2 meetings with UK still to come and a higher RPI than UGA. No one has two better wins in the nation than our wins over Pitt and Nova, either. Your best win is UK, with nothing else even close to being quality.

UGA > Tennessee

It's just because Bruce Pearl's excellent in game coaching, which we won't have the next time around.

Oh wait...

Look man quite being a troll, and switch to the buckeye logo.

Pearl is better than anyone Tennessee can hire.

The bottom line is UGA is more consistent, but Tennessee has the higher ceiling.

You may say UGA has been more "consistent" because they have a better record. But they've played some pretty close games against some very shitty teams and have a better record with a weaker schedule.

In the end, it matters none and it's only Jan 18th.

I was backing up your point that Tennessee is better than Georgia, idiot. We won with freaking Tony Jones leading the team. My post was just sarcasm.

Sounds like one of those "Bruce Pearl is Tennessee Basketball" guys.

So basically, our teams are in a similar position right now, but we actually have potential to be good?

I guess I'll take our spot.

Three wins against ranked teams and a head to head road win vs. 1 win over a ranked team and beaten at home....by an associate (acting) head coach.

You have a solid argument.
