10 shocking college football scenarios

quote:

LSU Wins the SEC

It all came together last year when Jordan Jefferson (pictured) found his game -- the Tigers smoked a very good Georgia Tech team in the Chick-fil-A Bowl, 38-3. While everyone is talking about the Florida Gators, that eerily similar talk about the USC Trojans in 2005 reminds us how difficult it is to repeat a BCS Championship. Florida will have to beat the Tigers on Oct. 10 to stay at No. 1 and probably play LSU again in the SEC title game -- I'll geaux with wiley Les Miles, FTW.

quote:

Tennessee upsets Florida at the Swamp

Every year there is one big upset, and this one could be it. Both coaches appear not too fond of each other, so the pregame smack between the teams should be priceless. (It has already started.) But here's the thing: Would anyone bet their mortgage that DC Monte Kiffin can't out-scheme the Gators' new OC Steve Addazio? Remember, the Vols had the third-best D in the country last year (tied with Alabama) without Monte Kiffin. It can only get better this year.

Urban is going to make a point to hang 70 points of Kiffins arse....I have a feeling Tebow will play till the horn sounds.

that would be nuts if the Vols pull it off... I have said before that Bryce Brown is gonna have to be as good as advertised and has to go for like 200+ yards with about 3 TD's or so... their defense is going to be good, but they just need Crompton not to mess up.

as far as LSU goes, I think as long as JJ keeps progressing and budding into a young superstar and builds off his bowl game performance, anything is possible. The Tiger defense is going to be back this year flying to the football and knocking some fricking heads. Rahim Alem and Drake Nevis are next in line following Dorsey and Jackson at D-Line U.

The secondary is going to be extremely salty.

We scored 30 on them last year and weren't even mad at them...at their place.

GA pissed us off the year before and looked what happened to them.

A gator writer said today that UTAH was going to happen until Kiffin started running his mouth. Corch didn't want to have to have to think about Utah before the impending beat down of UToof.

TN will be punished severely.

don't really have a preference... basically a win-win situation either way for me

but I'm kinda leaning towards cheering for the gators so that they are undefeated and ranked #1 when they come to BR Oct. 10

Two flaws in the UT-Florida story. First, if you think the new Florida OC will handle the game planning alone, you are nuts. Second, I don't accept that adding Monte is automatically a plus, especially in his first year. There is a really good chance that he won't know his players' capabilities and that the players won't get what he is trying to do -- they could very well take a step back defensively.

LSU winning the west or the SEC for that matter would be considered shocking

If people are shocked by UF not winning the SEC that is one thing. LSU is arguably the best team to go win the the SEC over Florida. They have the talent on both sides and also have the depth.

This would be truly shocking.

Agreed. Bama, LSU, or OM winning the West would not be shocking. Now, Miss. St. winning the West would be shocking. As far as Tenn. winning in the Swamp, I doubt it, but it's not impossible.
