Of course it’s based on feels. In a beauty pageant content, there’s no objective criteria for “better”.
That’s the whole point.
It’s idiotic for Bama to claim that they’re “better” based on a narrow outcome months ago, when clearly execution and momentum are trending away from Bama and in favor of USC

Incorrect.
Not totally incorrect.
In CONFERENCE play, the 1st tie breaker is h2h. Given where we fell behind Ole Miss and Bama, I'm sure the committee did the lazy thing and just used that metric.
I understand, but I also think there is an argument to be made that teams grow throughout the season and SC grew at a faster rate and finished the season as a better team.
But my opinion doesn't count.

The only people continuing to bring it up are perpetually raw assed LSU fans, one weird alter pretending to be a Carolina fan and......Georgia fans?

Completely reasonable argument

Why even play the games if head to head is not the best measurement?
The games came first. The playoff was tacked on.
You play the games to represent your school in a sport the players love. Not to fulfill some playoff assessment review scheme

I don't have to justify the committee decisions. I am enjoying their unique perspective right now. Lets see how I feel next week.

Because his argument is "we have a decent argument, but it's still close and head to head comes into play. I wish we'd gotten in but it's too close to act like we got fvcked".Your argument is "one was right, the other is wrong, one got SCREWED".

Nobody thinks Alabama is 1-2 or 1-4.
At 12/13, they have a case.
I’m not an Alabama fan, but if the choice is Alabama or South Carolina, then Alabama is my pick.
Ole Miss might be a different conversation. Good wins over UGA and USC. Bad loss to Kentucky.
Bama good wins over USC, UGA.
Bad loss to Oklahoma.

Exactly. None of them would be WRONG answers. All 3 have pros and cons.

True. Like 14 other teams in the top 15, we've managed to at least play .500 teams close if we couldn't beat them.

You gonna play any of those moving forward?

UGA fans are nervous about the possibility of having to face Bama in the playoffs.
It’s understandable. Bama owns you.

Carolinas argument is last month. Ole Miss' argument is comparing common opponents. Alabama's argument is the season as a whole, good and bad, being the best (and pointing to every computer metrics that agrees with that).

For all my bravado on here, real or false, I would like think I'm a rational person on the other side of the keyboard...
I get the H2H argument, but SC and Bama had 4 common opponents. Bama is 2-2 and SC is 3-1.
SC barely lost to LSU. Bama blew them out.
Bama lost to Vandy. SC blew them out
Bama blew out Missouri, SC beat them in the 4th quarter.
Bama got blown out by Oklahoma, SC blew out Ok.
