Universities are hoes now. It's all about the money grab.
Ivy League schools chose a different path decades ago - due to academic integrity and pursuit.
Today's state U's are saying eff it. Modern higher education is 90% an unscrupled sham, ushering liberal arts graduates into unemployment lines.
Now you can pay for football players (NOT STUDENTS) while you're at it.
When do people get enough?

So it seems they chose to bilk students as opposed to just football fans.
I guess the thinking is - if they stick it to football fans only, fans will rebel and the haul won't be as secure as simply shaking down every student involuntarily.
And they chose not to worry about the optics of mocking the primary purpose of a University, which I think might be education, if I dare suggest.
What a world.

It was my understanding when I was in school that a lot of other SEC schools had athletic fees or had to buy tickets. At carolina we never really had that. This fee, while annoying, probably puts us in a similar boat as what other schools are already doing

We had a $20 for access to general student sport facilities- gym, pool, tennis courts...yall just raised 18mm and players are getting paid 18mm

WVU did same though about half as much. If I were a student I’d tell them to frick it, pay anyway and never go to a game
