Imagine ranking a Stetson Bennett led offense above 08 Florida. A defense that had Joe Haden, Carlos Dunlap, Brandon Spikes, JJenkins, Jermaine Cunningham, and Major Wright. That defense was nasty and would have eaten Bennett and many of the other QBs on this list alive.

2013 FSU way to high
For sure.

Auburn almost (coulda/shoula/woulda) beat FSU in the Rose Bowl. 2010 AU was hands down better than 2013 AU.

LSU's head coach thinks the author of this poll doesn't know shite

Anytime I see these lists and they start off with 2001 Hurricanes I immediately disregard anything they have to say Using NFL career trajectory as the baseline for your best college football team is tremendously faulty reasoning. That team would get it's arse handed to it by just about every champion in the last 10 years lol

Agreed wouldn’t put them top 10.

4. 2013 FSU

If this is true, then a lot of Auburn fans have to feel pretty good about their team that year. It would probably be better than a lot of the teams that won titles further down the list.

A universe does not exist where 13 FSU was better than 04 USC or 05 Texas.

I mean…UF’s offense was clearly superior to Georgia’s offense.

Percy Harvin was incredible, maybe one of the most lethal college players in recent memory.

Maurkice Pouncy is going to be in the Hall of Fame

Tebow >>> Bennett

Hernandez killed a guy

But just for shits I’ll give a slight edge to Georgia’s D over UF’s D but not by much.

Normally I don't give a shite about these things, but being ranked 4 spots below 2004 USC, when we basically beat an even stronger version of that team in LA, is kind of ridiculous.

05 Texas may be too low, but claiming 05 was a stronger version of 04 is quite questionable. One could argue the SC offense was stronger in 05, the 05 SC defense didn't compare to the 04 SC defense. IIRC, the 04 defense returned 7 starters (some multi year starters), and the 05 defense returned 3 and it wasn't an upgrade of better players offsetting more experience. On both sides of the ball for 04/05 SC, the 05 defense would be the weakest group.

No. Both had top 5 offenses in their respective seasons.

Recency bias. 08 UF would be favored by at least 5+ vs 21 UGA

Yeah but 08 lost to ole miss. Hence the speech.

That 08 team was filthy though.

2003 LSU is way too low.

2007 LSU with competant coaching would have been undefeated and dominate. That team was stacked.

How so?

Maybe you have nostalgia bias considering you forgot 2008 Florida lost to ole miss, barely beat SC, and needed a late score to put away a far less talented bama.

You got your UF teams mixed up man. Florida beat SC 56-6 in 08 lol. And Florida beat Bama by 11 in the SEC title game.

After they lost to Ole Miss they went on a warpath. Destroyed top 10 LSU, destroyed a top 10 Georgia, destroyed a ranked USC, and beat both Bama and Oklahoma by double digits.
