I wish we could go back to having a 12-team SEC. It was good the way it was.

Texas is Very Much the South, in so Many ways.
(Texas is Uniquely its own)

Austin is Not the Vibe of Texas. It's a Anomaly.

I would have took SMU over Texas , with OU coming to the SEC.

Also, UNC,NC State, Duke and UVA, OVER UM, FSU, and Clemson.

The SEC pulls in TEXAS & OU and OP wants to debate better deals? Texas and a can of corn is far better than the spares that make up the last two expansions.

Half the country forgets South Carolina & Mizzou are even in the conference.

That’s such a lazy comparison that everyone likes to make just because it’s popular to do.

Texas is more like Florida. Large enrollment in a large state, diverse student body, large fan base, not quite traditional SEC like other big6 but has a strong football history. Cal has zero FB tradition. Zero FB history. If you’re comparing Texas to a CA school it has to be USC.

I wish we would've stayed at 10. The SEC would still be the best conference in the country.

Both stadiums are small. UNC 50k NC State 57k

Kenan held 63K until a few years ago. We replaced bleachers with actual seats and capacity dropped to 51,500.

A&M and College Station are a much better cultural fit than UTA and Austin in regards to being more southern. A&M is in a college town and full of conservatives. Austin is a big city full of liberal nut jobs, both college students and adults. My kid starts at A&M in the Fall. I’ve lived in Texas over 20 years, no way in hell I’d let my kids attend school in Austin. My kid wanted to stay in Texas, so Florida was out. Best place in Texas for traditional values and college experience is A&M.

Austin is nothing like Gainesville. And please don’t insult Florida by comparing it to UTA.
