IMO he should be thankful all he is getting charged with is some stupid "desecration of venerable object" statute. It's the federal label laws on the chemicals he used that could frick his world if the feds decide to ever prosecute. There are all kinds of ways they can frick him for dumping massive amounts of chemicals into the ground, trees or no trees.

"Massive amounts"? You act like the guy was running a Superfund site.

That door you walked in is the same door you can walk out of. FYI though, UT is waiting on the other side. Just decide which pimp you like better.

Yeah massive amounts. By all indications he used somewhere in the neighborhood of 15 to 20 times the normal amount it would take to kill a couple trees. Bitch all you want about him going to jail over a couple stupid trees, but the point is you can't just dump a bunch of chemicals into the ground for reasons other than it's intended purpose.

Methinks you are a little confused. Just because he used "15 or 20 times the amount it would take" doesn't mean he dumped gallons and gallons on the trees. Hell, some of that concentrate stuff is potent.

according to the label rate,5 pounds of product in 20 gallons of water, will treat about a mile a fence. It's sold in 4 lb and 25lb bags...

Just guessing but I bet Harvey used a 4lb bag, but probably didn't haul around 20 gallons of water with him though. So what ever he mixed up was pretty damn concentrate. So I'm just gonna go out on a limb and say dumping something that concentrated into such a small area qualifies as a massive amount. Just my uneducated opinion though.

No "hate crime" charges?

If he testifies truthfully they will have to charge him with a hate crime because Updyke is one of those Bama fans that thinks a man choosing to be a Auburn fan is the same as a man choosing to be gay.

I wish auburn to lose every game, but this guy needs to be punished to the fullest extent. A statement needs to be made to prevent future acts like this.

I'm really suprised that some of my so called brethren would back this piece of shite and call for a light sentence. au lost something they love, but the image of our fanbase took a hit too, so don't make it worse.

Bama fans kill trees. Auburn fans kill grass.

Auburn fans must be talented to kill off all that grass except for the 28-27, but it appears as if someone planted some rye grass in an area with dormant gumpgrass.
