The kid's a dumbass, but arresting him is even worse. He's gonna end up getting paid now. If not from the state on a lawsuit, in gofundme money on the internet. Maybe both.
They should have just not brought any attention to it publicly and had a few off duty officers catch him somewhere at night and just beat the hell out of him. That's how punks used to be handled before the safe spaces and coddling of America era came to be so popular.

He may get money from a left wing org, but IIRC gofundme doesn’t allow fundraising for criminal defense and if he was throwing stuff he’s guilty as charged.
I'm sure he'll get donations some way.
And it sucks because they are making him "right" in the case because it's freedom of speech.

Your city arrested him in violation of the 1st amendment. As far as his case goes, I side with him.
As far as what he said, I'd like to teach him that collectivism is ignorant.

It's a 1st amendment violation. Just call him a dumbass and move on. Now they are just making it a thing and people are going to stick up for his right to be wrong/dumb.
It's a misdemeanor disturbing the peace, he's not getting the gallows.
I wish it would all go away, but I think the charge is probably fair.

Depending on the circumstances, yelling crap might be protected speech. Throwing stuff in a public place isn’t.

It doesn't matter what you call it, or what the punishment is. It's a constitutional violation and he has every right to say what he did.
There is no right to never be offended by another person.
I think most people had forgotten about it. I just thought - some random dumbass, and moved on with my life.

If saying frick the ____” is disturbing the peace, then everyone of us would be arrested.
America is the land of the free. We don’t arrest people for having contrary opinions.

I don't remember seeing him throw anything. Seems like if he's throwing shite, it's not a disturbing the peace charge, it's assault.

Considering I'm agnostic, I don't think that's gonna be a problem.
I do have a problem with that low effort shite yelled, tho. That's disturbing the peace.

The civilians of the city didn't arrest the kid, and I have no love for any country other than my own, nor Portnoy, his company and it's dopey bro/brah sports nerd drooling jackass shtick or his depraved gambling empire. Be specific, since you so specifically accused an entire city of virtue signaling (or signally, according to you).

If you want to find out who rules over you, find out who you can't criticize.
What he did was dumb, but not illegal.

I bet it would be perfectly ok for him to say "frick Ole Miss" instead.

Throwing coins is assault and battery. No different had he been using baseballs.

Must be the foreign government that occupies Starkville that did it.

I’m just going by what it said in the story. Something about throwing coins.
Edited to add - it also depends on where he was located. If he was on private property and the owner didn’t want him yelling crap, he can’t yell crap.

Agreed.
Dude was just trying to eat a slice of pizza. Even if he strikes me as a bit douchey, the kid deserved what he got IMO. Obviously trying to stir conflict.
