The trick is to never upvote ALL of your own posts but sprinkle it in just enough to make it seem you don't. Especially holds true if you have many responses in one thread and perhaps there is an argument afoot.
And, of course, logging out of your main account and into your alter(s) to give yourself even more upvotes.
