Too early to tell, but AU has a chance to be a respectable team this season. The offensive talent is far superior to last season. If this team buys in to Barbie's defensive philosophy, we will not be an easy W in the SEC.

Tigerty, Bama BBall fan since 2011.
Sure am, I missed Alabama's Elite 8 run where they lost to UConn, who went on to win the championship game that year, and the sweet 16 run in 2006 where UCLA put on a 3 point clinic.
Five consecutive NCAA tournaments is pretty impressive, even though Alabama never got past the elite 8.
I wonder how 3 point shooting would be if Rod Grizzard played for this team?
Ah well, I started this account in early November so I'm a noob

This is why I'm excited for the future of AU basketball.

Agreed. Jordan Price is going to be awesome too.

I can't wait to see the new recruits come in! Barbee has me excited about next year for sure.
The games have been good this year and the team looks promising but a bit sloppy at times. We need Noel back!

I can't watch AU basketball because you were too scared to schedule 1 decent team that would put you on tv.
Check out your schedule brah. It's a fricking joke. If it weren't for this Big East/SEC challenge, you would be playing Southern Union instead of Seton Hall.
We do have a pretty weak schedule so far but it was done so we could have Noel Johnson play against the meat of our OOC schedule. Oh and not so fast on Seton Hall woodshedding us. There is at least 1 national guy out there picking us to win.
From CBS' John Rothstein:
AUBURN AT SETON HALL
Why To Watch: Both of these teams are mysteries. The Pirates are riding the best stretch of basketball Herb Pope has played in two years but have little support to put around he, Jordan Theodore, and Fuquan Edwin. Meanwhile, Tony Barbee is in the process of trying to make the Tigers into a respectable program and counting on two transfers Varez Ward (Texas) and Noel Johnson (Clemson, eligible second semester) to lead them there.
Don’t Be Surprised If: Auburn ups the pace to magnify Seton Hall’s lack of depth.
Likely Result: The combination of Ward and Frankie Sullivan in the back court lead the Tigers to a solid road victory.

Mizzou can check in on this one! 7-0, likely to be ranked top 10 next week.
