Well when folks found out it was Carl Spackler grass it became hard to keep on the field.

I remember when Fred Smoot was in school and we played in Lexington, he said the next day;"I am no grass specialist but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night. Their grass sucks!"

I do hate the poa annua that shows up in our southern lawns every Spring. It's a variety of annual bluegrass but not the same as the Kentucky bluegrass. Sometimes you can catch if you hit the pre-emergent at the right time but usually it comes up anyway (especially if it has been a damp Spring) and you have to wait for the heat to burn it off. Better?
