You played cover two and Gus never tried to challenge the safeties until the fourth. He did not want Nix to turn over the ball like in the UF and LSU game. His big mistake and something Burrow will exploit.

UGA hasn’t played any team with a competent offense. Their D stats are as real as an oasis in the desert

I know this is just a troll thread but UGA absolutely shut Auburn down while playing man across the field. For some unknown reason the switched to running a lot of zone and gave Bo more space to throw into. Why Kirby switched, I'm not sure, because we couldn't do a damn thing. When they went back to playing man they shut us down again.

As an AU fan that has no dog in the fight I'd give the edge to UGA on defense. However, Im certain they haven't seen an offense that is going to attack them like LSU will. Should be a good game for fans of college football.

AU out Gaines UGA. Had more TOP and more 1st downs.

Unfortunately, AU is coached by Gus.

UGA is lucky.

It was open all day, but Gus never challenged it. UGA wasn't going to let Schwartz beat them deep and Gus never attacked the post. Finally he opened up the plays more, but it was too little too late.

They getting tested this weekend. Aggies playing much better than they did early in the season.

Wow, talk about being selective with stats. It's not like UGA went prevent defense the whole 4th quarter or anything.

let's see how great UGA's "elite" D did against AU and how LSU's terrible D did when it mattered: in the 4th Qtr.

When it mattered? We were up 3 TDs going into the 4th quarter. Do you really think we were playing with the same intensity? I mean, it almost cost us for sure.

But does a team play with the same intensity going into the 4th quarter leading 21-0 as a team going into the t4th quarter leading 16-13?

I for one think LSU defensive showings have more to do with their scoring so much on offense. I remember what that defense did to us last year.

But I don't think a comparison of the Auburn game is going to reveal any hot "gotchas!"

Now that you have dissected the 4th quarter how about giving us a breakdown of the first 3 quarters? You know...the quarters that apparently don't matter.

It was also one terrible Nix throw behind a wide open receiver away from being tied 21-21 late with AU.
Do you really think the RB was going to score on that play? They MIGHT have scored in a few plays...or we might have intercepted a pass r recovered a fumble. Stop projecting your hopes and dreams on our game.

The corndog obsession with all things Georgia continues. You guys should team up with Garrison and go to therapy together.

Can you imagine this board if UGA actually pulls out a W?

Saving all my shite talking just in case - hell, this whole site will probably go down.

Your commitment to UGA is quite impressive. A short search shows that 18 of your last 19 posts are talking shite about UGA. That's a pretty sad life to live that your own team is so bad you spend so much time just bashing UGA

LSU was up 33-13 vs Bama at half. Think we had the same intensity?

LSU was up 31-7 vs Ole Miss at half. Think we had the same intensity?

Do you want to discuss that AU outgained UGA? More 1st downs. More TOP?

In fact, LSU's D looked better vs AU than UGA looked vs AU.

Honestly, and I have looked at it, the common opponents, UF and AU, LSU's D and UGA's D have very similar YPP averages vs those teams. UGA for sure with the edge and for sure a better D in preventing scores.

The biggest issue I see from LSU is the 2nd half D.

In games where the score was close at half time, like LSU vs UF, our D stepped up when needed and LSU won by two TD's.

LSU has some dudes on D. Can play with anyone.

No. Why would you even bring that up? I never said you did. However, I can only assume you agree with me since you did bring it up.

See above. Why even bring it up unless you agree with me?

Not in the first 3 quarters.

Not really. Yards wise? Yes. But not points wise.

Okay...but I wasn't saying Georgia was superior to LSU in any way. I said our D played very well against Auburn.

LSU fans are the most sensitive fans on this board. This has nothing to do with LSU. Here are the posts we are arguing about:

I watched the whole thing. I watched your D let the no 64 offense in the country march all over you, score 2 TDs in the 4th quarter and nearly tie the game but for an errant pass to a wide open receiver.

Sorry those facts are upsetting to you.

absolutely shite the bed in the 4th quarter. Since UGA fans like to compare LSU and UGA's performance against AU (and ONLY AU), let's see how great UGA's "elite" D did against AU and how LSU's terrible D did when it mattered: in the 4th Qtr.

Now you are trying to make it sound like we started a thread about LSU's defense. Come on, man.

1. LSU fan attacks Georgia defense.
2. Georgia fans defend the Georgia defense.
3. LSU fans act like Georgia fans attacked LSU's defense.

You guys are nuts.

You started a thread about our Auburn game, and when we point out that a games lasts more than one quarter you want to make it sound like we want to limit the analysis to one game?

YOU are the one that started a thread about the Auburn game, not us. Are LSU fans going nuts, or something?

Yes. At half time AU had more total yards, more 1st downs and more TOP. They just couldnt score.

quote:

Not really. Yards wise? Yes. But not points wise.

Yes really. Here are the numbers.

LSU held AU to 287 total yards. 4.16 YPP
UGA held AU to 329 total yards. 3.83 YPP

Nix completed over 60% vs UGA and 45% vs LSU.

As I said, very similar minus the extra score.

LSU also doubled the yardage.

In fact, the game wasn't in question for either UGA or LSU, but the point of most LSU fans is that, LSU's D, when it matters, steps up.

Is our D better than UGA's? of course not, but we dont need to be. UGA's offense is ranked similar to AU's. That is the important issue for the game.

Also, no one is sensitive. Just pointing out the reality of what it is.

Also, Ole Miss was never within two scores of LSU. SO not sure "how they almost tied it"......
