What if the true fresh qb is the best qb in the east?
I think Dobbs has to get the nod there. However, I could see a scenario where Eason is second best.
It shouldn't take much to have the highest passer rating in the east.

And you completely whiffed on my point of Chaney goes full Air Raid without warning and abandons the running game. Jesus WG I expect better then you.
If Eason develops they way we hope/expect, we'll put up points either way.

10RC is not the team to beat until they show they can win something
You have to earn the right on the football field
Internet supposed experts do not say who the team to beat in the SEC is

Oh you mean exactly the kind of year 90% of Dawg fans are expecting. I'll brace myself. Thanks for the heads up.

Georgia probably has the best collection of talent, on paper, in the SEC east. If it isn't the best it is damn near close to the best.
But...
They don't have a proven QB, their two amazing RB's have had serious injuries in their past, and they are in the middle of a coaching transition.
That being said, it would not surprise me at all, if they role into the Tennessee game 4-0. North Carolina is soft, and Ole Miss lost a lot last year. Even if UT does manage to beat UGA in Athens, (which hasn't happened since 2006 BTW), UGA still gets Vandy and USCe before the bye week, so they could reasonably be 6-1 going into Florida week.
By Florida week, UT and Florida could both reasonably have at least 1 or maybe more SEC losses, so they will be in the thick of the race.
The race in the East is going to be super close.

Not necessary either. Bama has won several natties with a plug and play QB. Hell AU took a natural born cornerback and won with him in 1 year.

You're confusing Sony with keith marshall. Sony has never been seriously injured and he's good enough to start for probably 100 other 1A programs. And by all accounts Chubb will be damn close to 100% by the opener, let alone the first real game we'll need him in week 4.

everyone always told us the former coaches were underachievers and could never win. I'd say a transition is a positive. And hell, your own team took a brand new staff and won the east in year 1.

I know it gets said abotu every other year, but the east really does look wide open. Should be a fun one to watch.

Didn't UF just win the East with a new coach and an unproven qb?
Posted on 6/30/16 at 3:51 pm to Porter Osborne Jr
UF was fricking lucky as shite last year and everyone knows it.
They beat Vandy 9-7 on a miracle FG, almost lost to fricking FAU, and needed an epic choke job on UT's part to beat them @ home.
They also only beat 5-7 UK 14-9, and ECU almost got them at home as well.
I still don't know why they blasted UGA so bad last year.

They beat UGA because hasn't figured out how to stop run plays off tackle.

And you very well could be right. I would give Dobbs the nod because of experience. But, Eason COULD go to the top.

Some of you guys are funny. Why are you downing UF's QB situation but hyping UGA because they have a hyped up true freshmen QB. Last year UF beat UGA with a QB that is so bad that he had to change positions.

Treon was easily the best qb on the field last year. Uf might not have that advantage again.
Posted on 6/30/16 at 5:19 pm to djsdawg
Lmao. Treon was terrible that game outside of two plays.
UF is worlds better at qb this year than treon Harris

And which two plays did Bauta perform well in?

You do realize he threw 4 interceptions, right?
Take a good look at the stats, man!

And Georgia is worlds better at QB this year than Bauta.
My gut feeling is the SEC East finishes
1. Tennessee
2. Florida
3. Georgia

I never said he played well, just that treon was much better than bauta. It's all relative.

My gut says the UT - UGA game will basically decide the east. SC is hot garbage, lost their best O player and also their best LB. Mizzoo will have a d-line but their offense is still shite. UF is UF but not the UF of old. IMO, UT and UGA have passed UF in talent, coaching is the intangible. UF was shite lucky last year and I just don't see them repeating that. UK, well, both UT and UGA boot stomped them last year, don't see that changing. Vandy. They just don't count.
It all comes down to the UT vs UGA game and it will be a good one.

So you don't think UF will have the better QB in the game this year? Who is the backup QB this year if it's one of the guys who wasn't even as good as Treon then your putting a lot of stock in the freshmen.
