This is just Irons being obtuse. The majority of Auburn fans are not satisfied with Auburn just being "in the conversation" in late freaking October, and they do not equate that to being a successful program.

I agree.. I just don't honestly know whether it's intentional or a state of being.

Gus is firmly planted at AU for a while, but I gotta think those folks want much better results for $7mm/yr than what they've gotten in the past few years for $5mm/yr. Maybe Gus can step out of his shell and produce better than 3-4 losses a year now that his seat is as cool as a cucumber?

It's not getting any easier for them in 2018, that's for sure. The tricky part was the timing... with Arkansas apparently putting the full court press on this year, it forced them to make a call based on the most recent info - which included home games against the best teams on their schedule in the conference. I think there will be a fair amount of buyer's remorse in 2018, but 2019 could be an up year for them again... the imbalance on their home/away schedule right now is very real... and unfortunately while it would be fixed by "undoing" the UGA swap that got them 2 home games in a row, it's highly unlikely as it would necessitate some shifts for other teams as well. It's made our odd-year home schedule pure garbage as well unless we rotate on a quality west opponent (but that's exacerbated by the neutral site game in Jacksonville).

Difference between military standards and medical standards. 25-30 is essentially a marginal range where weight maintenance is more important than weight loss... if you can stay there, losing weight isn't a bad thing, but it's just not the primary goal. Also, you have no idea how old the poster is, what the muscle definition looks like, etc... Again... fixating on random dudes' weight and body composition and trying to e-bully them isn't really my bag, but you seem to be real quick to try and draw conclusions that just aren't that straightforward.

ETA: it looks like the NIH does classify 25-30 as "overweight" and 30+ as "obese", but they also acknowledge that:
quote:

BMI may not be the most accurate method to estimate body fat and its health impact. Waist circumference or skinfold measurements are likely to be more meaningful. Therefore, the following comments have to be taken with a grain of salt.

Similarly, other BMI services would state:
quote:

Your weight is at a moderately elevated level; in our view, it is no longer optimal for your health. Contrary to the WHO classification of "obese", we hold the statement that you are only "overweight".

Your body fat mass seems to be a slightly above average. But health ought not be affected provided your blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels remain at moderate values. This could be more likely if you have a higher muscle mass and a lower amount of body fat.

Which is about in line with what I said above.

If Tennessee ever gets out of the shitter, ours will be again as well. The same would go for Tech as well, except they seem to be dreadful against us at home, but play their best in Athens...

BMI is one of the worse ways to measure body fat. It doesn't take in consideration of muscle vs weight. It is cheap and easy to calculate and that is why is is done. I read once that up to 30% of those considered to be obese by BMI standards do not fit that category. At least the military takes in the neck and waist measurements into their calculation, but that isn't even a perfect tool.

This thread had gone totally to the big boys on the block in the last page or two, and then the Peach Bowl runner ups showed back up.

Better yet, we can let the UGA fans rewrite the entire post and have it say that UGA is the greatest ever and have over 100 upvotes from all the rival schools. Kind of like how this conversation started.

Reading comprehension still getting the best of you I suppose... Literally no UGA fan has made this claim. A WRITER for an Atlanta based online publication took a trip to fantasy land which most everyone has laughed at... But you keep doing you...

If only someone had said that already...

The only reason it was brought up was to refute your ridiculous claim that 6'7" and 270lbs would look like the woman in the photo...

You had the opportunity to let it die... Instead you doubled down with the military comment...

Sure though... I'm the only one taking things literally.
