Sitting in some smelly living room begging a snarky 17 year old to come to your school is shitty whether it's down the road or 5 states away.

All of Kellys losses at Oregon were to teams like Stanford. Auburn, LSU, Ohio State, Arizona, USC, etc.

I believe you, I just don’t think he will work at any SEC school.

Yes. Because the NCAA clearing him of a 25k payment to a guy the NCAA itself says he didn't know about.

Exactly the same as buying hookers for kids directly from your cell phone.

This board...not bright.

keep that head in the sand, they don't toss show causes around for no reason.

I'm a 49er fan so you hiring Chip doesn't phase me one bit. Do it. The guy doesn't know the meaning of the phrase "in game adjustment" and still runs an offense the rest of football figured out 4 years ago.

We heard the same about Meyer.

If I am correct. Ole Miss became as good as it's been in fifty years running a high tempo spread? Auburn won a national title and got to another in that silly high tempo spread...right? Alabama literally only loses...to high tempo spread.

So why would that possibly work at UF? Let's not ignore his defense was 11th in the nation in 2010, while it's TOP was 106th in the nation. Seems like this "he had no defense" myth is pretty unfounded.

Is it because he went to the NFL and failed? Well damn. Carroll, Saban, and Spurrier are pretty good coaches...guess their first stints in the NFL mean they are bad(despite Kelly doing better than all three his first stint at Philly).

So please. Expand on why Kelly will not do good in the SEC? If it's because he lost to elite teams with far more talent while at Oregon sometimes...well..pretty sure Florida helps him get better players than he can at Oregon.

Did they?

UCF runs that offense.

Which offense is number 1 in the nation

He's more Gus than he is Urban.

Granted that's better than what you've had.

Not the offense as much as it is the scheme behind it. you could run the wishbone and be successful if you did it right.

Chip doesn't do that, he just runs out his playbook from 2010 and calls the same 4 plays over and over and over and over and over again. That worked back then, it doesn't work now.

I've actually had Chip Kelly coach my team and you're talking to me like you know more about him than i do

I fricking hate Florida for this, but this is the first step in the right direction in what will be a make or break situation for the SEC, at least in the short term.

The replacements this year will need to be big in order to retain (or regain in some people's opinion) the position as best conference in the country.

Trading McElwain for Kelly is a mega improvement.

Meyer was run out of the SEC because he could no longer stomach losing games. 7 years ago.

Auburn won a NC 7 years ago.

The spread Kelly ran everyone either runs it now or uses aspects of it. There is no surprise. Kelly is a good Coach but his system is outdated. He won't be bringing anything new the SEC hasn't seen for years now.

Chip didn't have any personal in San Fran. See how shitty your team is now? Hard to run his style of offense without the players to make it functional. Frost runs the same system. It's number 1 in the nation. So no, defenses haven't figured it out. Add in CFB and the NFL are vastly different. College the hurry up, fast past, quick decision offense is much better than the complex NFL schemes. College kids are still learning the game, so it's better to simplify it.

Kelly in CFB ran the best offense in CFB. Until he shows he can't do it at the college level, saying it won't work(while it LITERALLY IS THE BEST IN THE COUNTRY) is absolute idiotic.

Just admit it. You are scared shitless. You have O. Florida has one of the best offensive innovators in football.

No need to be a drama queen. Kelly is a great coach. LSU also has one of the best defensive minds in football in Aranda. It will be fun to watch them coach against each other.

Gotcha.

Makes sense.

I mean Alabama lost twice in the playoffs to spread teams.

Lost to Ole Miss more than any other program with Freeze there.

Say..Didn't Alabama lose to Meyer in the playoffs with that old darn spread that no one can use?

This argument is amazing. The spread is not functional anymore?

His offense was the best when he was here, and is currently the best in CFB run at UCF by his protege.

Yes..the spread is clearly not the answer for UF.

We should go back to LSU style football. Worked well for us.
