you have all of north and central FLA and they seem to be just as awesome as their sidewalkers. just seem to be lazier or all of the state is waiting to see if FSU is legit and the 3 team cycle moves on

Interesting case study of supply and demand.

still, the turd fan base should still not have as much issue as they are right now after coming off of two titles in the last 5-6 years
They shouldn't? Could you as a UGA fan explain from personal experience of watching your team win 2 titles in the last 5 or 6 years how we are supposed to feel and act when all of the sudden we suck?
I'll wait rat cheer.

One of these days I'm going to get down to the Swamp to see a game. I would this season if I didn't have so much going on up here during the season.
Maybe in Leach's 2nd year I can get down there for the end of the streak.

our fans have been watching a steaming pile of shite since 1980 and continue to flock like idiots between the hedges. the cackalinians pack out the brice. AU packed there place for the 50 some odd years before 2010. same with LSU.
only UF does this occasional thing in the SEC. being a gator is like being a heat or thunder fan in that it's awesome kicking arse and then they suck and no one cares again. or in FLA's case it's on to da U or FSU

I'm not even sure what you are trying to say but just in case.
Go get a bulldog neck tattoo. I know there's a place in Savannah that does them. I saw 400 of them there this spring.

nice
and i'm saying that UF shouldn't be struggling this recent from a national title. or 2. or hell, may as well add in 3. sure, programs struggle time to time for attendance and ticket sales but at least for UT it required their program literally just going straight to shite. yall just had a couple meh years.
we went 6-7 and our first non sell out was like the 9th game that year and was after hope was lost and was a game against idaho state

Well, I live in GA and not far from Athens and one thing I will admit and respect about UGA fans is their constant support of UGA. Although it does get a little annoying watching a fan base thinking they will win the NC every pre season, and then turn into the biggest bunch a moany groany sumbitches on the planet shortly thereafter.....and then repeat the same thing the next year
It also helps to be the only gig in town when you suck. And don't even bring up GT, they make up like 10% of the state.

I think you are trying to read too much into this.
The seats available are the shiities seats in the stadium. A lot of folks here and everywhere had to make choices about what to spend their money on.
There's not a line to buy those shitty seats.
The swamp won't be sold out for Bowling Green on Labor Day weekend. I'm not sure how that extrapolates to spoiled fans. That's the shite head rival explanation for sure.

yea you have to get the masses motivated somehow for such a drought. and honestly i don't even wanna compare UGA and UF here because i see your points and have seen them in the past. we are the one trick pony here and UF shares the state but that's my point. there is seems to be loyalty among the diehards to the 3 programs but there is the rest of the state that goes where success does. shite, let USF go on another run and lets see if they have the #s. however, the state is still large enough to support them all so i definitely think UF can't really be cool with this.

It's one game DGD. ONe game against a shitty opponent on Labor Day weekend.
You are building up way to much drama. I feel like a commercial break is coming.

is it just that though? i feel like every time i see a UF thread on here 50% of the time it's about attendance issues, ticket sales, and etc. that coupled with the immense attendance and traveling gator fans did before everything went to shite, which really isn't shite just normal, and suddenly the gator fan base isn't quite what it used to be.
i do think your new fans are spoiled and the rest aren't all that loyal. there are older fans who understood florida's past and they remain loyal but you have to agree those born 1985+ are in fact spoiled and perhaps that's why so many have now turned, perhaps not away, but indifferent.
ETA: i'm not on a soap box or anything, i'm just chatting. it's this or pissing off MSU fans. i flame here but not this exact instance

Holy shite. The Gator fan base is falling apart because BG isn't sold out.
50% of gator threads are not about attendance. That's silly.
3,000 tickets. To BG. On labor day.
Now the Gator nation is falling apart. This is a tragedy that I didn't recognize until you pointed it out.

i mean, what, you think the fans are still there? i'm sure they get back to top 10 the state will start throwing on orange and blue but you and i both damn well know that if FSU goes 11-1 or some shite most that state will wear garnett and gold, some of which who wore gator regalia in 2008

Yes the fans are still there. We have been from the highest of the highes and now we are in the dolrums of suckage. Still trying to figure out how to cope. Like I said just win.
Like the state of Missouri, we are the "show me" fan base. Just show us some proof of life and everything will be better.

but the lows haven't even been THAT bad. and i am sure if you show it they will come back. that's what i am saying, the state of FL goes to where it's winning with some loyal to the cause forever.

Fans in general are spoiled.

In Florida's defense (God help me) ticket sales are down all over the conference. Ours is down quite a bit (partially due to discontent with the product but also in part because the ESPN contract allows every game to be televised without PPV). Tennessee is down this season. I've seen a couple other schools who have had to get creative in ticket packaging to get their sales back up.
It's a combo of economy, visibility via the ESPN contract, and in some cases a change in coaching/small dip in success that's done it.

hell, i am not even sure we sold out, but what i am saying is more about their fans as a whole not just this one game or instance. seriously, even at GA/FLA their presence has been dropping off the last few years to the point where we may have more people there
Posted on 8/28/12 at 1:53 pm to Damn Good Dawg
Nah, I don't buy that. Think about the 90s when UF and FSU were ballin. The stadiums were packed for both fanbases. Now all of the sudden they are all gone? No way. They just don't show up to the games I guess.
Now, yes there are a lot of bandwagoners, but as I just explained they don't matter when it come to filling the stadiums
