Umm, frick conference standings. There is a Hurricane coming and conference standings are the least of my worries. We can forfeit if necessary. I love football as much as the next guy, but come on.

Or just move the game............

Wait, I thought Gatas were telling us this morning that it was stupid to move the game because Gainesville was going to be just fine? Make up your minds already.

I am in agreement with you. If the game cannot be made up later in the season, then just cancel it out right. Hey, if either or both teams are out of the SEC Championship Game discussion at the end of the season, then just play the game the weekend after the SEC Championship game.

Last year, tickets purchased for the game in SC were refunded. You had to buy new tickets to the game in BR. But all of the prices were set by the "home" team which was SC.

They cancel SEC games in other sports. There is no difference but for the money, and if you are already going to lose the money, what does it matter? I am not opposed to playing it in TS either, I just think if you are doing something for safety then let the students go home to their families. Some of them could use the help getting ready for the storm.

Whatever dude, I'm not trying to argue with you. It either has to be postponed or moved, its not going to get cancelled.

I'm not saying that. But I am saying that Florida doesn't have as much damage after hurricanes because their infrastructure is better prepared to handle strong storms than the infrastructure in any other state.

So on one board you argue every way you can to somehow justify the game being played in Gainesville yet...

quote:

It's looking more and more like this hurricane is going to hit directly on Jacksonville where I have a lot of family and friends. Y'all take a moment to say a prayer today for everybody up the coast of Florida and Jacksonville in particular. I'm leaving Gainesville tomorrow and headed home to Atlanta for the weekend to try to stay away from the storms. Y'all stay safe in South Georgia and the coasts of Carolina too. This is a big storm coming.
LINK

On another you're asking for prayers and actually leaving Gainesville yourself. So your own safety is vitally important but LSU and Florida players should just tough it out because ya know football and fairness and what not.

If you are referring to the students meaning the football players then logically they will be safer in Baton Rouge than they would in a area being hit by a hurricane

If you think it is the sample size and not the money I think we know who the idiot is.

There will be money lost if the game is moved to Baton Rouge

Even worse if it's moved somewhere else.

students are more than welcome to go home to their families. but most people leave hurricane areas before a storm. they return after

Also agree. If they play the game elsewhere, Baton Rouge would make the most sense.
