wait, would you call LSU's defense completely lost too?

they gave up a significant amount of passing yards to a team that can't run for shite.

Pretty sure their main problem was zero running game and a guy named Gilbert last year
none of that had anything to do with tejas giving up massing rushing yardage such as over 200 yards to ucla who had ZERO passing game.

didn't realize Alabama was playing a Muschamp led Texas team this weekend.
the defense at tejas was allegedly muschamp's. it's reasonable to expect that he has a hand in florida's defense. therefore, it's not unreasonable to draw from that precedent, right?

Florida has as much talent as LSU and Bama

Sorry, but our roster does not compare with those two.

We have SOME talent, little depth.

Our WR's and secondary, are not even close to LSU and Bama...

AAANNNNNDDDD still had the best QB in the SEC and one of the top receivers in the league.

when I judge a db him dropping a pick makes him look good to me not a bad thing. The picks will come, but the great part about it is that they were in the right spot and had a chance to pick it

A lot will be answered in the Swamp Saturday night.

Except that even then not really. Bama is supposed to win this game. Everyone is calling the upset but bama is favored. Florida can lose the next two games on the schedule badly and not have it be a really big deal in the scheme of things because hell we are SUPPOSED to lose these games. They are against two of the best teams in the country.

The games against AU, UGA and USC will mean a lot more to this team than the games against bama and LSU. 10-2 would be one hell of a good start to the Muschamp era and I challenge anyone to argue that it wouldn't be. Would a win in the next two weeks be nice? Sure! but saying that it will be the marker by which you judge our coaching staff is just stupid.

here's how Muschamp's defenses ended up at Texas
go back and look at the decent offenses they played (ok st, bama, a&m). he gave up eye opening numbers. then you throw in games like ucla and it looks much, much worse. sure he did great against wyoming and utep. to his credit, they had good numbers against neb '09.

in the third quarter, yes. they even admitted it after watching the film.

Dan Quinn is calling plays for the D. Sure Boom has input but he's not calling the plays.

Of course they make the game plan together too.

Quinn is more than a figure head.

We won't know much about how well the new staff is doing until year two IMO. We are so young it's going to be tough to get a good read in the first year of the new system.

if you find that acceptable, then florida fans have really lowered their standards. reminder: tenn looked horrible in that game. mistakes, penalties, no run game, no hunter. it was a circus out there.

We held Bray under 300 yards and should have had a bunch of picks. That's with 2 sophs and 2 FR DBs back there most of the night.

It was their first test and they got a C. They passed though.

Lowered our standards? We started 2 freshman and 2 true sophomores back there against the best passing attack we will face all year and we held them to less than 300 yards passing. We have the 5th best pass efficiency defense in the SEC (iirc) right now with what has to be the youngest secondary in the country having already played the best passing team we will face all year. I think we are doing pretty damn well.

We held Bray
much of that was due to tenn's incompetence, not florida's greatness.

this looks to me like a bunch of rationalization as to why florida didn't look good against tenn. but you can call it what you want.

Rationalization? He pointed out facts. I don't even know what you are so upity about now. Carry on.

FL looked good at most everything except pass coverage and even then we had a chance to have 7 picks. Only ended up with two so that's all that matters.

2010 UF was like 2008 LSU maybe

Both teams had new starting qbs and got blown out of the water. Pretty shitty comparison though....

They did pass. The PI calls while frustrating were better than the alternative of having a complete pass. Yes they get the yardage but the dynamic of the receiver running with the ball is removed

Bottom line for that game is it worked
