They weren't quite as good this year, though they weren't bad, but Memphis is the modern day version of Southern Miss right now. Maybe not the single greatest team on the face of the planet but more then capable of knocking off an SEC team.
Yes, UCF is down their starting QB. But winning a close game over Memphis is nothing to be ashamed of.
Maybe you should think back, not that long ago, to when Memphis roflstomped an Ole Miss team that went on to slap around LSU.
