UAB says there were 12,000 fans at the game. Is that what our stadiums will look like?

@UAB_FB

We’d like to give a quick shoutout to Legion Field, their staff and gameday workers for their effort last night in helping over 12,000 Blazer fans watch UAB set a @ConferenceUSA record for home wins. Thank you for putting safety first and showing the country it can be done!

Is this some creative ticket counting, or is that actually what the crowd (on at least one side of the stadium) will look like for an average game this season?

Hard to tell. That’s a typical crowd at Legion Field.

It still weirds me out to see Legion Field without the upper decks.

Looks like they are using the same attendance counters as LSU Baseball.

Worse, they are not 6 feet apart. Imagine being on the last row of the endzone upper deck at BDS with empty seats all around you. You think people will follow the rules ?

That lower section may hold 60,000.
Unless the other side was more full, no way that's 12,000.
Maybe they counted the kids in the nearby houses that wave the towels at fans trying to get them to park in their momma's front yard

Teams too.

I noticed at kickoff (on TV) it looked like most of the sideline staff was wearing masks, and as the game went on there were a whole lot less to be seen.

They'll be out there watching your car for you the whole time!

There were more people in attendance for the Alabama 6A State Championship last November.

That's a typical UAB crowd.

That pic is only showing the visitor sideline. Home side under press box was much more populated. I'd say it was easily 12k.

Nothing like sitting in the old arse metal upper deck swaying in the breeze

Had to look at the logo on the field to make sure that wasn't Mizzou's stadium

So funny seeing no players wearing masks but all the coaches and officials wearing masks, until the coaches gradually said frick it. I'm no doctor, but I'd be more worried about the dudes face to face on the field spreading a virus than the people who aren't. Also didn't see many in the stands wearing masks at the USM game (didn't watch the UAB game). Wish they would just stop the charade and move on from the mask thing. It's just comical at this point.
