The shape that team is in, they needed someone to put all the cards on the table. They needed to be called out. Now they have 2 options, ignore it and be called quitters by the national media, or respond and be praised to answering the call.
It was a brilliant move on Wilson's part IMO. Kudo's for him for stepping up and taking the team over. I think he basically told John Loser Smith to butt the frick out and let him handle his shite from here on out. No way possible it could turn out worse.

I think its a pretty big story, actually. It is clear that the team has no leadership at all at this point. Wilson didn't make himself a leader by publicly throwing his team under the bus in a game in which he didn't even play. If he had done more than held a clipboard, he would have had a right to say something.
