Definitely getting an Embassy Suites. A friend's company was bidding on one of the projects, and I've seen a few write ups on al.com about it. Can't remember seeing an Embassy Suites without a Ruth's Chris, but I admittedly don't stay in Embassy Suites very much.
Here's a rendering.

That's my understanding. Set to open in 2014 for football season. So they should be starting pretty soon.

Epiphany, Chuck's Fish, 5, DePalmas...... anywhere downtown, really. We also have any chain restaurant imaginable
...except the good chains. Notably absent are Cheesecake Factory, PF Chang's, Macaroni Grill, J Alexander's, CPK, On The Border, Maggiano's, etc., etc.
Loved my time in undergrad at Bama, but damn I got tired of the lack of good restaurants.

I realize where it's at, hoss. I lived there for five years. Like I said, I've never ventured into the major damaged areas.
Then you are admitting you're too stupid to know where the damaged areas were? It's not like the whole damn town was destroyed.

As far as a good steak in Tuscaloosa, there are none
The Cypress Inn is amazing... The Blackstone Steakhouse in Northport has the best steak imho.

Go frick yourself, you little shite. The LSU fan was trying to be an arse. Right or wrong, I gave a more serious reply. Then you two asshats decided to jump on me. Who needs opposing fanbases, when you own "fans" are such asses?

This Blackstone Steakhouse you speak of, I have never heard of. Where is it located?

I really wasn't trying to jump all over you. I thought you might be confused, but I suppose I was wrong. I didn't really mean anything by it.

I guess the hyperbole of my statement wasn't clear. That's my fault, but some people take any chance to jump on someone. I don't feel you necessarily meant that, but your statement and my response provided the opportunity for the douche above.

Chris Hastings (famous chef) of Hot and Hot Fish in Birmingham is suppose to be opening an upscale restaurant in the new Downtown Tuscaloosa hotel. Also, a rooftop bar amd pool are suppose to be included.
