But you don't want the guy around your program at all once he's taken another job. He got fired from Alabama a week before the NC game because he was more focused on his new job than winning the title at Alabama. He's a distraction.
We had multiple other coaches like Kirby, Pruitt and so on who got coaching jobs - sometimes at rivals, and still managed to finish the season out.
If he didn't have a history I'd agree Ole Miss was being crazy. But I'd escort his arse off the property the same as if he'd been fired if it was me. I'd probably allow most any other coach to finish the season.

Different situation than Kiffin and OM.
Tulane isn’t in the same conference as Florida nor do they compete with Florida for recruits

I doubt Florida will be poaching Tulane players. Not remotely the same. Ole Miss absolutely shouldn't let Freshwater coach for a free LSU commercial in the playoff. Would be an embarrassing cuck move if they did.
