He hit a few really clutch home runs as a sophomore and people fell in love with him. He had that hot streak two years ago, but has largely been bad at the plate. He was a career .249 hitter coming into this game.

He hit .197 as a freshman, .229 last year, and was hitting .186 coming into this game and that's only going down.

The thing is even if he was matching his sophomore year numbers, he'd still be one of the worst hitters in the lineup. We were just that bad offensively as a whole.

Great synopsis of Diggs career. I would still love to see him pull us out of a close game so he can end on a high note.
