Just like all of the QBs at Bama under Saban, he manages the game, throws to open receivers, relies on his running game and in Saban's words "won the team over".

Video evidence -

Tua gets great protection and throws to a receiver that was open by 7+ yards in his most-famous play

AJ McCarron was a game-manager, and he could have made the same play in his career at Bama. I get that Tua's was in the title game, but McCarron's most famous TD was more impressive - a 99 yard TDS from his own endzone throwing to a receiver that had not yet gotten open.

Also, Bama's running game is the focal point of the offense. Take the Louisville game for an example. Tua completed 12 passes (two of them were for TDS. credit where it is due) Alabama ran the ball 42 times for well over 200 yards. Tua is a great player, but no Alabama QB can be anything more than a game-manager in Saban's offense simply because of philosophy.

Shame we lost that game. Aj and Cooper deserve more credit for that play.

This is the natural progression from “Tua has only played in 1 half how do we know he’s good?”

It's the greatest most forgotten play in Alabama history IMHO.

He's going to "manage" to throw about 6 tds against that piggy D.

You're brilliant. He sucks. He will have plenty of open receivers against Arkansas, I'm looking forward to your analysis afterward.

My hope is he doesn’t embarrass Scott Cockering.

If you watched Tua this year he's hit receivers in stride and has put the ball in spots where only his WR can catch it, even with great coverage

He has great touch, something Hurts lacked generally. He has a good pocket presence and can go through his reads well while keeping his eyes down field.

So I disagree, he is much more than a game manager. Hurts was a game manager, Tua is playmaker and leader for Bama's offense and team

This has to be troll

I'm honestly not sure which is sadder -- the fact that you went to the time and effort to create this post, or the fact that you probably believe it.

frick it. I'm not choosing because they're both really sad

If his analysis has any "point" it's that AJ is as good as Tua. I don't really know what to say. Hopefully an odd troll

I'll post it right back. Most all Heisman winners have a bad game or two

AJ was better than most people gave him credit for -- I think it was the excessive tatting that confused them -- but he wasn't on Tua's level of natural ability.

Man, that would really lower the boom on Genro. Not sure how he would recover from that.
