Tua is a once in a lifetime talent. Dude's accuracy is unbelievable. I know you guys will downvote me because you think I'm just being a homer but I'm telling you...Tua is legendary status.
He should have had three picks in the NCG.

Tua would start over Stidham at auburn 100%.

A true freshman against one of the top defenses in the country trying to throw his team back into the game almost threw some picks?!?!? Preposterous!

I bet texag7 can't even name the QBs at A&M. His mind doesn't work well with the Bama appendage in his mouth.

Sean White ?

Sean White had a HS arm. Gus had to play call around that weakness, which is why he had a high completion rate.

" first Auburn quarterback to throw for 250 or more yards in three consecutive games since Dameyune Craig in 1997 and the first AU freshman to ever accomplish the feat ... Auburn freshmen had thrown for at least 250 yards in a game only five times in Auburn history prior to 2015 ... Only the second freshman QB to throw for at least 250 yards in multiple games in Auburn history, joining Stan White, who topped the mark four times in 1990 ... With the win at Kentucky, White was the first Auburn freshman quarterback to win an SEC road game since Jason Campbell at Vanderbilt in 2001 … Owns the second-best passing performance by a freshman QB at Auburn with 258 yards passing (12-28, 1 TD, 1 INT) vs. Ole Miss … first college action came in his first start vs. Mississippi State … 20-28 passing for 188 yards with one INT vs. the Bulldogs, along with 29 yards rushing … 6-10 for 108 yards passing vs. San José State, and added 18 yards rushing … 19-32 for 254 yards at Arkansas … 12-28 for 258 yards with one INT vs. Ole Miss; threw first TD pass, 47 yards to Ricardo Louis … had 94 consecutive pass attempts w/o interception."
not bad for a guy with a high school arm.

I'll take Stidham by a longshot. Everyone's talking about him as though he's Joe Montana or something. Little reality check - his last outing he led the Tigers to an embarrassing loss to UCF to close out a disappointing 4-loss season. Imo he's not much different from Zach Mettenberger - he's got an NFL arm and makes some nice throws, but he doesn't have the "it" factor. He's not gonna put the fear of God in anyone, and he was relatively held in check by a lot teams last season.
Auburn fans think he's going to lead them to the playoffs, so there's a big setup for disappointment.
Tua isn't expected to be much more than a great passer that can open up the offense. If he can provide an improvement over Hurts and lead us back to the title game, he won't disappoint no matter what his numbers are. It should be somewhat easy for him to do considering the talent at Alabama.
However, IF he can continue doing what he did all of last season, he'll be in New York as a Heisman finalist, and there's really no reason to believe he won't.

That is the the typical answer from the fan who reads stat sheets on Saturday night and those who watch the game, Gus did a great job with White, even with his limitations. Anyone who saw White play knew he made good decisions, but had limited arm strength. Auburn had some talent at WR, but they were also held back due to Whites arm.

I guess that explains why your fans want to run a player out of town who has thrown for 4800 yards, 62% completion rate and a 40:10 TD to INT ratio and has only lost two games as a starter. Which is the reason, emotions or facts ?

Here's a fool's emotional opinion: a team that leads the SEC in scoring and is 13th nationally playing in the country's toughest defensive league has a poor offensive line......that's really choice!

Wanting a "better player" doesn't explain trying to run the player with better stats and a proven record out of town. Hurts is a proven commodity even with the poor offensive line play. The fact that they ranked as high offensively is a testiment to how good he was. If it was any other QB playing, they would have been in the hospital after most games.
