Forgive me for forgetting, but how many black HCs has Auburn hired?

5. There are allegations related to his recruiting tactics that are easy to believe for an opposing fan due to all of the above.

This is the only one on your list that is relevent for me. I don't care that he coaches at AU (I like Chizik, actually). I don't care that he coached at UT. I don't care about his sideline demeanor (that's a "him" and an "AU" problem..He knows he will never be offered a Head Coaching position while behaving that way).

I only care about his recruiting tactics (plural) and the personal interaction I've had with him on a couple of occassions (one in particular when he was still at UT). He is not a good guy. Period. He is dirty in multiple ways and isn't a good representative of AU, or UT for that matter.

I bet you won't find many UT fans with anything positive to say about him other than that they are glad he is gone. You will likely find more to admit he wasn't clean than to say something good about him.

it is silly to assume that racist people in this state gravitate toward one fan base over the other.

Racism tends to be less prominent the higher level of education one has. All you have to do is look at which school has the most uneducated fans.

I did not say that Alabama did not have black coaches, I said they did not have HIGH PROFILE black coaches. That is just a fact. Auburn has Trooper and Luper..

But why is Trooper considered high profile? Is it because of his coaching abilities or things he does off the field? If it's off the field, then I am glad that none of our assistant coaches are considered high profile, and I don't care the color of his skin. Wearing the hat backward is not a black thing, but it is a youth orientated thing. How long does Trooper think that he will be able to pull that off, and not look like an old man trying to be young. I really don't feel jealous of Auburn having Trooper, because as a Bama fan, I don't want him here, but there is no way in hell that I believe he got an offer from the Dallas Cowboys and he turned it down. I don't believe he got an offer, as what, it's not like they do any recruiting.

because he is the assistant head coach. When Chizik isn't there, Trooper runs the show.

If Saban wasnt there, would a black assistant be in charge or Kirby Smart?

Yes, because it is hilarious watching bammers being butthurt over Trooper Taylor because he wears his hat backwards. It doesn't have anything to do with the fact that AU's receivers couldn't catch a cold before he got here now we are setting offensive records, winning a national championship, and raking in top 5 recruiting classes.

Right, don't tell a bammer how the inner workings at Auburn apply because they already know.

Who? Never heard of him.

Of course I've never heard of a lot of bammer's assistants because your coach is an ego maniac.

This thread started pretty far down the mountain and has continued to go downhill. I tried to have some reasonable convo, but there is an all out flame fest that is likely not going to end.

I'm on record as saying that I have an associate who used to be in coaching. One of his coaching stops was AU. He still has friends in the program at AU, as well as at other places. He has told me on more than one occassion that Trooper is nothing more than a position coach and a recruiter. He also communicated to me that AU would love for Trooper to find another job. They got "buyer's remorse" of sorts about a year into his time there. However, you can't fire Trooper for a miriad of reasons:

1) he is popular among the fanbase
2) it would raise too many flags for a program that is successfully sending a message that "all is fine with us"
3) he knows too much and could cause trouble for the things he has done

Keep your head in the sand though.
