No. OJ might face a civil lawsuit, or a civil claim, but a "charge" is exclusively the province of the criminal justice system. A charge can involve an arrest, a civil claim cannot. Hell, with the intellectual laziness of today's media, I guess it isn't truly misleading, but it is inaccurate.

I know this may be confusing for you, but the word "charge" has several different definitions.

It's connection to criminal activity is only one of them.

You misinterpreted, it appears.

So when pretty much every major news outlet and several court system, from my quick search use the word civil charges, they are using it wrong?
