Aaron Rodgers?
Not in Tedford's system...ever. His offenses don't ask the QB to run the foootball at all. Even as effective as Rodgers scrambling, he had 74 rushing attempts in 2004. Cam had 264 attempts this year. While I'm not a big fan of Tedford system QB's, you can at least say they have experience as drop back passers in a traditional offense.

Sam Bradford says hi.
Not so much. Bradford had 482 passing attempts during his heisman season. I think we're having a bit of an issue recognizing a spread passing offense vs a spread running offense. Think Texas Tech vs. Oregon.

quote:How many spread running offenses have there been? I think the sample size is too small for your theory to hold any water. Also, Cam is not the typical run first QB. He can make all of the NFL throws and has great arm strength and pretty good accuracy. Reading the D and decision making will be his downfall, if he has one.

I mean the spread running attack has only been around for like 5 seasons. Not really a fair comparison.

Jason Campbell's accuracy > Cam's accuracy

I couldn't agree more. The problem is that even the spread passing game dumbs down the reads, not too mention the running attacks. While more guys are coming into the NFL with experience in the passing game than ever before, guys from traditional offenses look much more comfortable faster. Give me the guy from the vanilla I-formation than a guy who reads the end or throws the smoke screen every series.

That's because Jason would just take the sack. Never took a chance if it wasn't wide open. Cam has some serious zip on the ball and can fit it in places most can't.

Get past arm strength. Kyle Boller has arm strength (did). Byron Leftwich has arm strength. Cam's feet, not running, but how he sets up will be what is stressed going forward.
HELL, Purple Drank has the best arm in the league.

can throw it the farthest and with the most velocity...
yes best arm in the NFL and its not even close...
worst player and biggest waste of talent in the last decade of the NFL and its not even close

Completion percentage does not equal accuracy. Recievers running wide open because everyone is up defending the run will increase the completion percentage. Cam's accuracy and footwork need work. But i dont expect any auburn fans to agree with this because after all, Cam is barner-jesus and he does nothing wrong.

You do realize who else they said this about right? It wasn't that long ago... He's not in the league anymore?

FTR-Campbell's completion percentage was also aided by a pretty decent running attack (Cadillac and Brown) as well as a passing attack that relied heavily on screen passes.
Sure passing percentage doesn't necessarily = accuracy, but it is a more objective indicator than your bullshite opinion.
ETA: But I don't expect a Bama fan that signed up to TD for the ATPB to be objective because Cam is the anti-Christ and can't do anything right.

don't know what you're responding to, but when a scout talks about a quarterback's arm they are talking distance and velocity.

His footwork needed work in week five of the season. It has been as good as you could want it to be late in the season.
I don't see the gripes with his accuracy either.
