And how do you know this? Were you in the ER?

I know a family member of a passenger.

You like spreading unfounded rumors don’t you

They wouldn't test at the scene because they were rushing her to the ER. The coroner will test it.
The hospital probably tested but it will take a search warrant or court order for LE to access it. LE will probably get those records in due time. Sadly, there’s no need for them to get the records quickly.

Would you like to bet a very large amount of money?
Posted on 1/18/23 at 7:47 pm to Oconee Dawg
I don’t bet on tragic accidents.

It is tragic. My son went to high school with one of the passengers. It’s very possible the driver was completely sober. The family member I spoke with did not want to speak on behalf of the others. I’m just correcting the statement that “nobody” was intoxicated.

Why don’t we wait for the final reports before we start spreading stories that might not be true. It’s not fair to the survivors of this accident. They are suffering enough

I would agree if I wasn’t 100% certain.

So Willock’s family it appears is about to sue UGA. They are holding a presser tomorrow about it.

This is what I was explaining before. It doesn’t matter much if the staffer driving was sober or not, even stone cold sober she was providing a ride for a student athlete late at night and wrecked. The university is going to get a lot of heat from this by the lawyers.
Terrible idea for staffers to be involved in late night activity no matter the circumstances.

They haven’t even had his funeral yet. Good lord…

Yep. If it was a "service" provided by the University ... then the school will be held responsible in any civil court case. No different than if an Uber driver gets somebody killed in an accident - Uber would be held responsible.

Alter? I’ve just been a longtime lurker. I am a retired UGa grad and my son went to PAC with one of the passengers. The only statement I’m making as fact is the 2 survivors were intoxicated. I would be shocked if college students going to the Waffle House at 2am were not.
If you want a rumor, several people that were with them claim the driver was sober.

Interesting. I was talking to her grandfather who said they were sober. Maybe he meant the driver? Regardless, ScogDog was right. I need to stop speculating until the police report comes out.

Meh ... don't take it so hard like that. You're "connected" to this, somehow. I don't get it, but I don't have to either.
I would say this - in a completely friendly manner - prepare for heartbreak. Something is going to come out, once all the facts are known, that is going to disappoint you. That's just how these kind of things always work out. Four kids don't fly off the road, at 3:00 AM, without making bad decisions.

It's cool. You took a hard stance at the start and it got to me. You've been much more reasonable now.

Absolutely, 100%. I've done/do dumb stuff all the time and nothing happens. That could have been me, but it was them instead.

Me too. I lived, back in the day. Not like kids do now, but I lived. And I am a heartless son-of-a-bitch. That's just a fact. Kinda' like a Redneck Vulcan, to be honest.
It is a tragedy, no doubt. None of those kids deserved to die, even if they were stupid. Tragedy happens every day, though. It's literally luck of the draw. So I just don't get attached to any tragedy anymore. And I don't worry about annual checkups, either. We're all dead men walking.
Buy you a beer, if I get the chance.
