Hmmm. I wouldn't call it "luck." I agree w/ your basic premise (which most on here will deny) that the gap b/w the 2 programs over this decade has not been a wide one. The players are comparable. Alabama has had a bigger, stronger defense than LSU, but, the Tiger defense has been good enough to have won more than LSU did.
Offensively, "miles" apart. Which is why going forward I'm optimistic to see how an unpredictable offense will fare against Ala. (seems that Ole Miss' offense did pretty well.)
Through my purple and gold glasses, I see LSU playing harder East opponents than Ala. in certain years which arguably proved the difference in those years. I see uncalled offensive holding penalties (last yr, Hurt TD run, case in point.)
Yet, the difference b/w the programs, the success, is the difference b/w a good coach, Miles, and a great coach, Saban. True, Ed O is no Saban, but the "hire a CEO who hires great coordinators" theory (see: Dabo Swinney) may very well be successful at LSU.

I actually feel a little guilty for taking pleasure in seeing all of you dumbasses ate up with envy and jealousy of Bama. Some of you guys have got it pretty bad for daddy Bama.
