It happens, but it's not a frequent thing. Usually the RT lacks the agility, but without a better choice ATM is having to roll the dice and hope JFF's ability to escape the pass rush can overcome a weakness on his blindside.
It is a frequent things when Joeckel was a starter day 1 as a freshman, Matthews was his same class... Jeockel was the best tackle in the country. It seems highly probable that Matthews is a naturally great left tackle, but there was another guy on the team who happened to be the best in the country, no? At that point maybe he plays right tackle? Someone in here was saying Matthews is a great C/RG/RT, it might have been you I'm not sure, but whoever said that is an absolute idiot. He is a tackle.

How is it demeaning to say he is a great RT and I think he would be a great c or guard. All I said is that he will likely struggle at LT.

CyKo >>>> Matthews
If both came out this year, Matthews would have been drafted higher. Does that mean he is better? I'm not sure. Both are very talented. I think Matthews benefited from playing two different styles under two different coaches, and Mike Sherman being one of the best offensive line guys to ever coach at any level. The development at A&M was probably better than it would have been had Matthews gone to Alabama, so I can't speak on raw talent level. And I don't care if you're a gump that thinks Alabama's coaching is 100% greatness 100% of the time. Mike Sherman's system and coaching was simply the best for offensive lineman in the country.

To think that a guy who is a natural tackle would be a great guard or center, but would struggle at his natural position? That isn't demeaning, you're right, it is just simply moronic.

Sammy Watkins kinda sucked in 2012. He had 1 carry for -3 yards against LSU.
1) Trolling/being sarcastic
or
2) Really stupid LSU fan that must think Clowney sucks because he had a sub-par performance against LSU.
Either way,

Based on Matthews top 15 overall evaluation?

CyKo wasnt eligible for the draft this year, so...
I remember Damontre Moore had a top 15 eval at one point too.

Natural position
He hasn't played LT ever in CFB, how do we know he is a natural. His abilities translate better to RT, C, or Guard.
Having said that, he is a great player but if ATM Han even a decent LT the would not make Matthews play out of position.

Just because you say this, it doesn't make it true. His abilities translate to LT and RT. That is why Matthews didn't play C or RG, even with the athletic freak Cedric Ogbuehi on the line. I know gumps tend to be uneducated, but I hope to God you don't actually believe what you are saying.

Again. Not playing out of position. His natural position is left tackle or right tackle.

That's the position he learned (from his Hall of Fame lineman father) and was recruited to play.

Just stop. Now. Please.
