State is going to have a good dline?

Actually yeah it's up there with the best in the league. Don't make fun of people on here when you don't know what the hell you're talking about.

yea, im trying not to be biased. Its not very often that the top D in the West isnt one of the big 3's. Plus bama is extremely talented, just not a lot of experience.

Now I wouldnt put money on our D being the best, but I promise you that we have the best front 7. Our secondary is doing well in the spring also. Doesnt mean they will in SEC play, but the rebs will have one of the top D's in the SEC and perhaps the West.

Anything can happen of course, but until the fall we have to play on paper. And on paper I dont see anyone with such a good mixture of talent and experience. Once again, thats on paper.

no shite. that was my point. a state poster questioned our DL, even though it will be one of the best in the country, because it played poorly against State. So in jest, I questioned yalls DL, even though it will be one of the best in the country, because it played poorly against Auburn.

I was making a point that just because of one game last year doesnt mean our DL's wont be dominate this year

I think you may be surprised with our defense this year. Right now, it's all talk but trust me, they are going to be a different unit this year.

We have lots of talent but have so many starters to replace. If the young players gel quickly then watch out, but if they don't then we will still be alright.

They sure looked pretty weak vs Mississippi State in the EGG Bowl letting Relf and Dixon both rush for over 100yds.

Well state's D looked great giving up 600 yards of offense and 26 first downs to Auburn early in the year. Everyone has bad games, you of all people, should know that.

I was impressed with the improvement in D under Chavis last year... dunno if LSU will be the best D in the west but they seem like a safe bet to be close to that

Yea but ED's players are gone now. Ole Miss had a good couple of years but now Houston Takes over with his players. Which doesn't bode well for you guys.

Go look at recruiting then pig. Nutt has recruited better than Red Bull thus far. Sure, experience will be the difference this year, but talent wise, we are as deep as we ever have been.

The Ole Miss front seven will be their best in a LONG time. I am not sure about the secondary.

I'm not either. Fairly young, but talented. Only time will tell. Until fall, it's all speculation...

Arkansas has no dog in this fight...It does seem like that are instilling more of a "pitbull" attitude that we have been lacking in years...I contribute this to Steve Caldwell joining our staff...

Will we be improved? That's been the trend, but I see us nowhere near the top 5...Hope I'm wrong

A good front seven can hide some defects in the secondary, via the pass rush.

State's defense should have been better last year. Their scheme was more conservative than I can remember it ever being. This year will be a totally different approach with more experience plus a transfer and reshirt that will probably be big time players for us.

Marcel Dareus. And yes, along with you, there are 118 other teams who would love to have him sport their uni. IMO the guy is a top 20 pick . 6'4 300 lbs and can move like that? He looked like Jerome Bettis in the NC with that td.

I know Ole Miss will have a solid defense. They might have issues in the secondary, but if they can (and I predict that they will) put significant pressure on the quarterback with their defensive line and a linebacker or two, their secondary shouldn't give up too many plays. Alabama lost a bunch, but I am sure they have the talent and athletes to fill in. Saban always seems to get more out of his players too. LSU should be good (I think we will have the best secondary for sure), but I am still a little uncertain on our front seven. Our defensive ends and outside linebackers seem extremly quick and athletic, but I am worried that they may be a little "light" when playing physical running teams like Alabama and Mississippi State. Mississippi State should have a solid defensive line, but I am not up to date on the rest of their defense to make an accurate prediction. Auburn should improve. Arkansas should improve some, but will probably still be the worst unit.
