Michigan State -- with OSU strong and Michigan on the rise? No way.

I have no issue with the OP listing Michigan State. The pressure to win there is nowhere near the pressure at Michigan and OHio State. Not even close. MSU fans will become MI fans if MSU goes back to ao 500 percent winning program. That isn't going to happen for a while though.

I would think Mississippi State is a lower stress SEC job. Below average football history. Patient fanbase.

What?

The OP asked about the least stressful jobs in coaching, not the least stressful jobs between Michigan, MSU and OSU.

pressed enter by mistake.

That is the only year HCGP has been on the hotseat. One out of 14 years is not stressful. Auburn canned Chizik 2 years after a NC. That is a stressful position there.

And if Pinkel tanked the program like Chizik did then he would be fired as well.

I'd like to Honorable Mention TCU and Baylor as well.

Both fan bases have to be delirious with their success in recent years.

Yea South Carolina would be a Sunday stroll through the park. They have only won 11 games one time in their entire history and they are still doing cartwheels about their magical 2013 season.

Ole Miss would be stress free too since that fan base has no expectations as well.

I.e. Schools that don't win titles and accept mediocrity 90% of the time. Congrats Pinkel.

At least be accurate if you are going to post. We won 11 games and finished in the top 10 three seasons in a row. But don't let facts get in the way of your post. As far as cartwheels about 2013, I'll give you it's no 7-6 season with a Tax Slayer Bowl victory.

Our fans love Bert because it's been about a year and a half since LSU scored on us.

Same reason Bert is all up in your little corndog head.

One could argue LSU and UGA belong on the list as well.

There are no "stress free" jobs. There is a different level of expectation for different jobs with good reason. There are still expectations though, and you fail to reach them you are gone.

Any coach that has himself in a low stress situation has created it for himself by winning.

If anything, most of the time schools don't give coaches enough time.

Pinkel was very close to getting fired about 3-4 years into his tenure and it was damn near unanimous amongst the fan base in wanting him gone. Thankfully, Mizzou stayed the course and let him build his program. He built up enough good will that he could survive a 5-7 season in 2012.

The presence of Alvarez might make me rethink your awarding them Honorable Mention

Once you start having success, any job becomes stressful. People will expect you to maintain it. And when you don't, you start being viewed as a failure. It's the nature of anything, whether it be a head coach of a major football program or running Baskin Robbins over on Doo Doo Street. You can't escape stress.

The Auburn fans never wanted Chizik in the first place. Winning the title did not give him any grace with their fans.

If Pinkel won us a NC, as long as he did not kill anyone or have a Penn State type incident, he would have at least another 5-7 years after his championship year.
