I wonder how Bama's starting QB didn't make this list.

Will Grier and Shea Patterson in top 3. Sounds like Florida and Ole Miss should be poised for nice rebound years.

6. Jake Fromm, QB, Georgia

No way Georgia throws the ball enough to have Fromm in the top 10. Love Fromm and think he is very talented, but he should not be #1 from the SEC.

Georgia will throw more in his second season.

Will he be as successful with more on his plate will be the question

Guess that is what happens when you make one if the best defenses in college football look like a high school defense.

In fairness, he didn't make them look like a High School defense. A defensive back playing out of position did. He gave a spark to the Alabama offense, for sure, but he also made a couple of bad mistakes, too.

He'll be good and do great for Alabama. I'm not sure he will be a Heisman candidate this soon, though.

Agreed.

I think he will, but he will need between 3500-4000 yards and 30TD's to be a credible Heisman candidate. I just don't see it.

Solid list, though Fitzgerald has to improve as a passer. Thats very possible though.

From the first time I saw him play against us I thought that kid has the potential to be the best QB we've seen in the league since Cam and his NFL potential is through the roof if he refines his passing game ... which he was doing under Mullen IMHO. Fitz is an extremely talented QB IMHO and he's what is gonna make MSU go this year. Kid can flat out make things happen with his feet.

Maybe. But of the last 10 winners, only 4 have come away with a National Championship.

I just don't see that at all honestly.
I feel like Mullen was the opposite. Not many of those guys are in the NFL either, and if they are they are 3rd stringers. (Mullen or Urban guys)

I actually think Moorehead would be better at developing a kids NFL skills. Didn't Fordham have that one guy Skelton who had some burn in the NFL?

I don't see how you can pass over Love if he stays healthy and puts up similar numbers to last year.

Especially after McCaffrey was passed over too.

I don't think Fromm is electric enough to even be in the conversation, really, but let the hype train roll!

It's not that I disagree it's just that improvement in college is a relative thing.

Spurrier didn't produce a bunch of NFL superstar QBs eithdr but all of them could sure play the college game.

Fitz has a different level of potential IMHO because he is a big guy who can really run. Now, Shaw could really run and was a highly underrated passer but he wasn't a bug guy. Dylan and Danny could really chunck it but they were not mobile.

I guess I don't know enough about Moorehead's history developing QBs to say ... but if he can teach Fitz to use the pocket and teach him to anticipate his throws a little more and check down and find his open receivers ... well, the kid has the arm. He's got oodles of arm strength and he throws a decent spiral, all the mechanics are there. He's just too quick to break and that's something he is going to have to learn to control if he wants to be successful in the NFL. It's not like he's got happy feet or anything, it's just that he doesn't seem to see things materializing fast enough.

Cam still has that problem IMHO. Tebow had that problem. But rhen you look at Dak and you say, man the game really slowed down for him after his sophomore season and then, when he got to the NFL, it didn't take him long to adjust.

They better throw to make up that loss of production. Chubb and Michel aren't in that backfield this year.

I think Dak's success is all overblown TBH.
There was certainly a decrease in productivity from year 1 to 2 when he had one of the best Running Backs in the NFL out and a OL hampered by Injuries.
Rating went down, INTs went up.

I think he's a fine talent. But without Zeke he's middle of the Road IMO.

Grier was 6-0 going into his redshirt freshmen season at UF. He was replaced by Treon Harris after his suspension for using PEDs; and that as the beginning of Tdecline. He was recruited by Urb.

We will throw more, but not a ton. We still have a great backfield with Swift, Herrien, Holyfield, Cook and White. Like I said, we will throw more, just not enough to get him consideration for a Heisman. My guess would be run 55% and pass 45%.
